Comfort Zone - I don't get it
Alright, so I'm hoping someone can help me out with this.
I've been to CZ three or four times now, and I can't honestly say I've ever had a good time there. But at the same time, I see loads of people, here and elsewhere, talking about how awesome a time they always seem to have at Zone, and how much they look forward to future events. So I'm trying to figure out why I can't ever enjoy it.
Obviously, the music is awesome. No question. But the atmosphere there just seems so unfriendly and negative. I remember being genuinely scared there on more than one occasion. Is it all just in my head? Am I hanging out in the wrong places? Should I not be talking to people while I'm there? Apparently there's an upstairs....what's there?
Usually what ends up happening when I find myself at zone is that I have trouble getting into the dance floor - because I can't see and am afraid of the people around me. I end up sitting on the patio most of the time and smoking. Either there or in the lounge to the right of the DJ booth.
So I guess what I'm asking is for someone to please explain Comfort Zone to me. I really want to be able to enjoy it, since it is THE afterhours place in Toronto, and I live a 10-15 minute walk away from it, but I just haven't been able to up to this point.
Thanks!

.
because there is light there and usually a little more room than the dance floor.
7-8 years ago the Zone scared me...it is so tame now that Guv actually scares me more.
I love the atmosphere in the CZ......all the people are there to party and listen to great beats...the true lovers go to the zone. Its dark, its dirty, its a place you wouldn't want your mother knowing you go to....its a throw back to better times...imo.

| Originally posted by Mattivi ive clubbed pretty much everywhere you possibly can in north america, i lived on south beach for 5 yrs, ive been to some shady spots LA, Vegas, nyc and even in detroit. toronto is my second favorite city to party behing miami cause your edm scene is big, good mix of everything and i love guv cause the talent and the big parties like LOL plus you have the docks too. ive only been to the zone 3 times but i gotta say its the sketchiest afterhours ive ever been too (and ive seen some shit) youve summed up my thoughts on that place. it can take your high and ruin it fast. its not for everyone and hopefully i wont be talk in to going again after SANDER i guess im gonna have to stop my feet from dancing. |

Yes a few of the Zone regulars have told me they are going to some after zone party Sunday night.
If I recall, I think they were Pulse and Funhaus. Were these the ones you had in mind?

if you guys think comfort zone is sketchy... you should check out pulse or film lounge
In guess it isn't a place for everyone. For me, half the fun in going to guv is all the people I meet there. Hard to do that most of the time at zone. I'll definitely be back some time though. I have a group of close friends that are pretty much regulars. Maybe it'll grow on me.
What is/where is pulse???
Who spins there? etc.

I'm definitely with Tiesto Sux & English Rachel on this one. Best bet is to find some friends to go with and hang out near the front, with those in front of the DJ booth. Make your own vibe, feel the music and party. Everyone that goes there semi-regularly has had the 'scare' factor there, but with the right DJ, the right people and the right music, zone will speak to you in ways few other clubs can. I hope you find that moment!
I've heard about Pulse, being predominantly asian, haven't been... Loco (aka Funhaus) is closed for Renos right now (sound proofing etc) but i hear will be quite the cool place when it opens, as an alternative to zone. We shall see!
a friend once tldme that if ur not feeling the zone it means you have to do more drugs

A year ago I started going to zone after Guv with my non TA friends and then 6 months later I stopped going with non TA friends because they always had to go home earlier than me and I would have to scarifice my fun for them reaching home. Now I choose to go there alone, I have more fun alone then when with my friends........I have ended up making soo many friends there ......I love the Zone and cant think of anything else or any other place when I think about having fun.
Its not for everybody.......Whatever floats your boat.

If it doesn't make sense to you after going a few times, it probably never will.
But than again, not everybody had a sadistic side to them.
Like everyone else has said,
If you don't get it, then you probably won't get it.
I love CZ. I don't even find that sketchy at all. I guess it depends on what day you go, and when you go, but I never feel that scared in there.
I've even falling asleep twice in there and didn't have a problem doing it.
