Bottom line: I own both, started with Torq, but sound quality is sub-par when you start playing in real clubs, therefore upgraded to Serato with TTM 57SL.
I have personally seen Torq used in a professional environment where as Serato is seen in clubs fairly frequently.
stupid question....
serato or traktor would be a better discussion
use them all and see what you like

Seriously though, I only read threads relevant to my interests. I already own Traktor 1.5 and I think it is time for an upgrade. Whoever said it should be Traktor vs. Serato should really look into why not much people use Traktor. |

I have serato without the external power source and i have no complaints at all.
Serato FTW!!!!
Here's a small list of DJs that use Serato, or have used it until they decided to remix live. I still haven't seen a professional DJ use Torq, or seen a club with a Torq install.
Paul Van Dyk
Sasha
Deep Dish
DJ Am
MSTRKFT
Tommy Lee
Benny Benassi
Pete Tong
Max Graham
Satoshi Tommie

anyone know why serato bpms all my tracks over 140 as say a track at 140 as 70 or a track at 142 as 71?
is there a way to manually correct them?

| Originally posted by djkoolaide Yep, double click the bpm of the track so it becomes a text edit box, then it shows a more accurate decimal. Pop that into the calc, x2, and replace the BPM in serato with that. |

| Originally posted by sterilis when i click the bpm in serato nothing happens. you're talking about the bpm displayed on the right hand side of the virtual deck? |

| Originally posted by djkoolaide No, in your crates, there is a column that displays the BPM. |
