Trance tunes of 2008

So, what tunes released in 2008 has been kicking your ass so far?

After somewhat abysmal year last year, I'm looking to get some feedback on trance tunes this year.

So far this year, only tunes that caught my attention is

Sander van Doorn - The Bass (Wardt remix)
-because tech trance is good and this tune is raw and gritty.

Wardt - Show My Shuffle
-I guess something in between tech trance and prog. Wardt I think is SvD's protege or something. This tune has that trancey melody combined with some of the filthiest bassline I've heard in a long time.

U2 - Beautiful Day (Mat Zo remix)
-Beautiful Day is one of my fav U2 tunes and Mat Zo adds some old fashion prog trance dressing to this tune. So far, it has made one dancefloor go crazy in my exp

Ronski Speed pres. RST - Stormbound (Maarten de Jong edit)
-Ok. It's released in Dec but eh. Seems no one really caught onto this gem yet. I dig the harder sound of this edit, and general tech trance feel to this track while keeping the overall trancey feel

Ferry Corsten - Into The Dark
Dmitri Federov - Falling of Stars
Talla 2XLC vs Sean Tyas - Heart To Heart

And my top choice for 2008 so far is:

Ernesto vs. Bastian - Thrill - I have a feeling you would like this Yohan

Street Punk - White Russian
Luminary - Amsterdam (Super8 & Tab Remix)
Sean Tyas & Talla 2XLC - Heart To Heart

Just took a listen to the top ten on Beatport's trance chart. Pretty craptacular.

I don't understand why people like this tune... It sounds like cookie cutter pop trance.

not bad. heard better

Ah yes. I can distinctively hear more Talla than Tyas that wanker in this tune. Solid production

*shudder*

Why must people keep reminding me of bad vocal tunes that I blot out of my memory?

nice tune.

though that scale climb thingy in melody has potential to be annoying after a while

eh. I like both remix. I met in terms of actual collaboration, you can hear more of 'classic' 'anthem' trance bits that Talla is known for than Tyas can produce.

also, check out Nu NRG - Kosmosy (Octagen remix)
Good uplifting trance tune. And I'm a sucker for anything Nu NRG

Marninx - Pure Sense
-Nitrous Oxide remix isn't bad but holy orig mix. Pure hands in the air euphoric bliss

deff not annoying for me man, i love how the melody climbds like that reminds me of the old days still...and what trance has always been like...thats the defining sound of trance the build ups, the tensions in the melodies, the synths, its what i still love in trance, any type of uplifting sound in a trance tune ill usually enjoy it.
