people who use laughing smilies in odd places
Have you ever noticed this? Sometimes folks from this forum will use laughing smilies in places where there's no hint of funniness nor an attempt to joke at all. Often happens in other sections dedicated to music such as dj promotion, tracklists, etc. Examples:
quote:
in a thread about a tracklist archive... Updated.
quote:
in a thread about an amateur music prodution... nobody comments my track?!
![]()

All new n00bs use this smiley ![]()

![]()
I don't know about the laughing ones but the misuses of smilies in general bug the shit out of me. I also noticed it's usually illiterate noobs who do that.
I remember stuff like:
quote:
can any1 help me idenify tis grate tune pls??! ![]() |
good point, and great thread ,, lol
least used smiley:
![]()
i dont understand it either ![]()

laughter is the opposite of threatening. it's inviting. but sometimes people overuse the smilies as you've noticed. lol!!1
i prefer randomness & therefore lol at my own discretion.

this is a reconstruction of an event that took place on IRC, about 3 years ago on my birthday:
( some guy ) happy birthday
( me ) thanks
( some guy ) np
i mean.. what is this?

Writing np on a forum/MSN is ok.
SAYING np in Real Life = ![]()
I've never really noticed it, so its not much of a problem in my book.
