Turmoil in Tibet

I am watching it unfold in the Russian media. China has sealed Tibetan areas affected, and foreigners are forbidden to enter or leave. There's some serious shit going on around Lhasa as we speak. I am worried that China might be doing some sort of cleansing in there. That would definitely put a damper on the Beijing Games.

I hope the Tibetans get their country back..

Yeah seriously. Fuck any country or government that messes with the Buddhists. It's the only religion on this piece of shit Earth that I actually respect.

I'm really surprised that they are pulling this shit so close to the Olympics. I would really like to see some prominent nations have the stones to boycott the Games because of this.

It's fucking disgusting and sad.

Buddhists are the more caring and peaceful people out there.

Why does China want Tibet so badly? Are there resources there? It can't be for religious or spiritual reasons since the Communists are sworn atheists, aren't they?

Its a strategic location.. it opens up passes to Kazak, Uzbek, Afghan, Pak... remember silk route?

It's an occupation. Unjustified occupiers are the cause of much un-needed world turmoil. The only justification of an occupation is to punish an aggressor nation.

Quebec was never its own country.

Also, in 1995 Referendum, Quebec chose to stay within Canada in an internationally observed fair vote.

Dalai Lama is a pussy... he should stage a wack back to Tibet like he did when he fled.. he will be arrested at Chinese border to India.. world will demand his release.. maybe he will spend a few years in jail.. like Nelson Mandela.. but his walkback drama will create a lot of fuss and anger against China.. maybe some nations even boycot olympics. And China has invested a lot in this olympics.. it will be a big blow to them.. and great for tibet in getting attention.. Tibet will not get better chance than this.. right now is the moment.. but pussy Lama is happy in his cushy comfertable life in India and globe trotting as king.. he dosent give a damn about his people.. he only cares for his kingdom.

China Continues Crack Down on Tibet Protests

China has acknowledged for the first time that anti-government protests in Tibet over the past few days have spread to other provinces. The protests erupted last week when Buddhist monks took to the streets of Lhasa to mark the anniversary of the 1959 uprising against Chinese rule. Human rights groups say dozens of people have been killed and hundreds arrested. We speak with Lhakpa Kyizom, a Tibetan activist in Dharamsala, India, and Robert Thurman, president of Tibet House US. Its a proven fact that quebec doesnt want to separate because then they wouldnt have a reason to bitch about being part of canada. In reality they only want to complain.... and receive equalization payments...

O RLY? Is that why the referendum was a close vote of 51% in favour of staying within Canada? Yeah, clearly there's hardly any Francophones who want independent Quebec ...

Not wanting to sound anti-mandarinian, but it's becoming obvious those Chinese are adopting the same genocidial procedures they themselves had to suffer from by the Japanese. I wholeheartedly support armed Tibetan struggle against Chinese occupation and call for the international community to wake up and finally stop this ongoing massacre. Again, nothing against the Chiense, some of my best freinds have Chinese restaurants.

By 'strategic location' i mean it has borders with many different countries.. its not just heroin, but oil route, food and textile route, arms route.. if you share common road/land border with some other country a lot of new trade opportunity arises.. you can sell lot of your country made stuff to them which would not have been possible by sea or air..

Why you think there is so much fuss about 'Kashmir'? Because the original map shows it shares border with 5 different country.. its other thing that half of it is now in Pak, half in India and China.

aren't you a ron paul supporter? i would expect a ron paul supporter to be more of a pacifist than you display. i'm sure he would agree that tibet is an internal chinese problem. when people get too emotional or have too strong an opinion in either direction, they lose that pacifism.

i guess you're right, even though i think providence, rhode island has a greater GDP than Kazakastan. but, when you don't have much, whatever you have is better than nothing.
