What is a "lesbian vibe"?

So I've asked all my friends and no one can answer. Im a bit desperate for some insight, its been on my mind all day.

My story:

I was in the bathroom at guv and this girl starts talking to me. After a couple minutes she says "Are you a lesbian? I thought you were but now I dont think so." So I say say no and ask why and she replies with "I saw you awhile ago and I thought you had a lesbian vibe" then she walks away.

So Im just curious what is a lesbian vibe?

I dont go out to pick up guys and I smile at both guys and girls, but I dont see what I would do to make me seem like a lesbian

And before anyone says it.... I do not look masculine in ANY way.

pics or stfu.

that's def a first I ever hear about something like that

maybe she just took your smile the wrong way? I know a lot of guys make that mistake

Posted by chinamon on Mar-22-2008 21:03:

i think i know what she means by a "lesbian vibe" because i know people that give off a "gay vibe"... such as thesauce23. something about him screams "help! open this closet door and let me breathe!"

Honestly, you'll get all your answers watching "The L-Word" on TV. Anyway, many people have 'gaydar' and know immediately that you are gay before you even know yourself. Anyway I don't know you, but my guess you'll come out within 3 years. Actually, I hope you are not a les, but Bi!

Posted by I_Am_Vince on Mar-22-2008 21:16:

Basically the girl that approached you thought you were a lesbian and thought you gave up a 'lesbian vibe' kinda like if you see a guy acting pretty flamboy-ish with his hands waving everywhere and you think he's gay... ask Barbina if you wanna learn more lol

Haha! No question about it, I like guys. And although this might not agree with other people opinions; I do not believe in bisexuality. I think its for people who are either confused, or for girls who want to impress other boys. But thats just my thoughts, Im sure lots of others feel differently.

Yeah I have always questioned the validity of bisexuality

It seems that its just a transition stage to coming out of the closet for most people

Ok so my question is: What is the flamboyish version of lesbian behavious? (does that make any sense???)

What kind of behaviour does a "typical" lesbian display? The only lesbians I have ever met have always looked very masculine.

So paging Barbina.... The prettiest lesbian I have ever seen (not in person, but in picture)

Guess you've never attended PRIDE week events? Anyway, generally they are classed in 2 categories:

1. Butches

2. Lipstick lessies

Still kind of new to Toronto and I havent made it out to Pride Week. I hope to this summer (except drag queens kind of freak me out).

I had heard of lipstick lesbians but since I had never seen them i had placed them in the same category as leprechauns. lol

At first I said 3 years for you coming out, but now maybe this June (3 months from now PRIDE week).

I better get out of this thread, but it's the only interesting one for this long Easter weekend so far. LOL

I'm only joking about everything!!!

Lipstick lesbians are far from being leprechauns. Rather than being `butch` they`re you`re typical feminine woman, but one who is more attracted to their own sex.

If you watched Tila Tequila (sooo awful, but I loved it), the female contestants were lipstick lesbians. This is the best picture I could find.

If Tila was actually a lesbian, she would be considered a lipstick lesbian. However, her bi-sexuality is most like a crock of shit.

I need to watch more TV, Tila Tequila and the L-Word will be on my list of shows to watch next week. When are they on?

I knew there were such things as lipstick lesbians, but I guess like leprechauns you never see them. lol <--- that would be the irish in me. haha

I would suspect she was just trying to pick you up and when it was clear you weren't interested, she said that as if to explain herself.

Also, I don't think I've seen lipstick lesbians in TO.

I missed the season finale, who did she eventually pick? The media was circulating stories that Tila definitely does have a boyfriend and that is why MTV did not renew for Season 2, even though ratings skyrocketed!

She picked Bobby, but reports say that he tried to contact her afterwards and she would have nothing to do with him. I heard that too about the boyfriend thing...but I heard a rumor that they may be bringing it back b/c Bobby "broke her heart". If it comes back though I'm definitely not watching it. The more I watched that show made me realize the more I can't stand her.

I've never met Barbina personally, but she would be categorized as a lipstick lesbian. Ever hear her go gone about fashion chic etc...

There is nothing better than a bit of MTV to numb the mind after a long day. Ive been shamefully watching That's Amore with Domenico, who I think is one of the guys she didnt pick or something.

I love these young girls who are 18 and are looking for their true love/acting career.

Ya, Domenico was on Tila Tequila. Seriously the show is so awful, my bf was nice enough to watch it with me (he actually got a bit into it), but he made me watch it at home first so I could yell at the TV in the privacy of my own home and not while he was trying to listen. Haha

Oh wow. I leave for a day and theres a dyke thread ahhaaha.
Anyways.. yes.. I am a "lipstick lesbian" haha and im glad most of you already knew that.. and fuck you vince .. i'll go bull dyke on you if you dont shut your mouth
[<3]

as for the girl in the bathroom
it can be realllly hard.. especially if you throw in drugs/alcohol.. to tell if a girl is gay [unless theyre obvious about it].. its usually body language.. so that girl probably just thought you were hot and wanted to give it a shot [you never konw whos bi these days haha] or she picked up on something that you didn't mean to send.

Flamboyant lesbians? Well uhm... hmm.. Unless theyre the dykey kind I think its hard to call. The way I tell is basically eye contact and body language... just like a guy you can usually tell whos interested.. or just do what that girl did in the bathroom... its easier
