Worm Popper Camara question

Which one of them cyber shot/ pocket type camaras makes best videos with great sound? In other words I need a new camara and of course it will get used in a club and in that order it needs to record well.

Thax for your advice.

I use my Panasonic DMC-LZ2.

It has awesome sound quality in clubs, better than any of my friend's cameras.

here's a sample from the last time Armin played @ Pacha.

I have an older Kodak EasyShare camera, but I've always loved how it picked up sound at live events. It could probably be a little less bassy, but I'd assume the newer models pick up the hi and mid range frequencies better and just have better sound overall.

well im comparison to sony vs canon, i would go with canon. I currently have Canon PowerShot SD870 IS and the picture quality is amazing for a point and shoot.

In relation to club pix

Pix taken with Sony

Pix taken with Canon

i do have vids taken with my canon, ill upload them later today.

I hear great things about Lumix Cameras, which are owned by Panasonic.

if thats the same/similar camera which captured that awesome moment during SILENCE@Armin at TW - yes the infamous video by now lol

then my votes with that one. i believe certain Panasonic Lumix models have 10X optical zoom also.

altho

Canon Point and Shoots def have gotten up to speed. Drews SD870IS has gotten quite good video/audio capability also

imo the Sony Cybersots take much better videos than any other point and shoot camera but lack picture quality and durability compaired to a Canon or Nikon. My old powershot Canon took OK vids depending on were I was in the club. It seems to me that the microphone in the Sony cams filters out a lot of the base and produces more crisp video's. The Canon would pick up lower fequencies but a lot of the times it would be distorted if you were too close to the speakers.

i have a sony 7.2 cybershot and to me it takes dope videos
madd crisp sound but i agree the regular photos are not as good as a canon
theres been alot of new cybershots comming out tho like better megapixels and shit so maybe the new sonys do take better photos
heres 2 videos i shot with my camera to me they sound dope

I actually wanted to know this as well. I would really like to take vids at clubs....I think canons suck for taking videos cause they distort the sound way too much. I dont know about othe rones

I agree with you 100%, probably one of the best sounds.....

Somebody posted awesome vids from armin, i dont remember who, but i remember the vid were fucking great

Posted by Stassi on Mar-29-2008 02:21:

i think when taking videos it is important, if the camera allows it, to lower the input volume on the mic to keep the audio from peaking and turning to mush.

Posted by kadomony on Apr-05-2008 19:50:

I use Nikon.

check my videos here most of the recent ones are shot with an old Nikon L3. I'd assume their video image quality is better in more recent models.

For videos get The Flip. http://www.puredigitalinc.com/index.html It's cheap, easy to use and takes high quality video. ~$150. I have the Flip Ultra. Takes great low light vids.

Posted by euphoria on Jun-30-2008 17:09:

Looks nice but I'd rather have something that takes pics AND video's in one.

i believe the older ones were meh for taking videos in clubs and also they limited the amt of video time, Drews actually hasnt experienced the sound distortion problem wtih his sd870IS and right now its just about up to SONYs capabilities
