Talking Ferry Corsten @ Lizard Lounge

What an awesome night!

Ferry tore the place down! I think they actually did a better job of controlling the people that came in because although the place was packed, I still had room to dance my ass off...and my legs are def sore!

I had to work until about 1:30 and drive out to The LL in 20 minutes so right around 2ish Ferry was already into a set....I'm not sure what time he came on but he played well till right at 4am...awesome!

Of course he played "beautiful" and "fire" and the other tracks not to sure of...Threw in 2 tracks that I'm having a brain fart on the name....Its the song that is and EDM head's anthem basically...I'll think of it later..."funky, and I'm a microphone junkie...." That one? lol...

He started off with the banging trance and then got dirtier around 4,

Beautiful night indeed! And, I even got drinks after last call!!

Love ya Ferry and love the LL for bringing in the Talent! Can't wait for PVD!

Re: Ferry Corsten @ Lizard Lounge

I had a good time.
Breakfast did a really good set. But I noticed that his entire set had absolutely no vocals at all. Then Ferry comes on and pretty much everything was vocals. It was a nice balance in that sense. I remember last time he was here, he just played hard and dirty from start to finish. This time he started off melodic, anthem trance and then got dirtier throughout the night. Him starting off with "Into the Dark" just made my night, even though it wasn't the full vocal version.
I left around 3:30, but the party was still going insane at that time. The place was so damn packed. It was like Armin in April '07 all over again. I started having panic attacks, so we had to go upstairs for some relief.
Got to meet Ferry FINALLY before the show. I remember last year I was upset that I missed meeting the dude. He was super nice, and he promised to play more like he did in Miami. Jayson saw the show in Miami and said the set was pretty much the same.

He only played for about 20 more minutes after we left didn't he?

He was boring me to tears towards the end. He peaked way to early in his set, IMO

He played till 4am

Exactly why I didn't go. He bored the shit out of me last time. My couch was comfy Friday night.

Ok, we left about 3:15. I guess he had a little time to make up for it

i actually kinda agree... i've seen him 3 times before in 3 different timze zones and this time was just average, not great, not bad... just ehh... i left at 3:30 so i cant speak for the last half hour

I've seen great DJ's elsewhere and had tons of fun, and then I see them at the LL and it's always a bit of a letdown.

Dallas deserves a proper venue.

Took the words right out of my mouth!

D-town brings the talent but now place to showcase!

100% agree with you on that one... lizard lounge is too old and the dance floor situation there is definitely not fun, people are constantly tripping / falling over because of that little stair that gets you down to the main dance floor... and plus the fact that it smells like a cigarette factory on fire doesn't help things

Well Cirque looked like it was going to be the perfect venue for those shows. But I don't know what happened. maybe they are hip hop now? I dunno.

Corsten sucks get over it. My birthday party was probably many order of magnitudes better in the fun factor, musical quality, and down ass sluts.

Tiesto is booked there for June.

I suppose it's more of an 18+ issue.

Ohhhh Testicle how absolutely barftastic.

No doubt. Just saying that top DJ's can still be booked at Le Cirque, but probably arn't because @ the LL you can throw 18+.

unfortunate... i'd rather it be 21+ anyways

So would I, and I would venture to say so would most people. I don't book shows, so I don't know, but they probably make a ton of money off 18+ as opposed to 21+.

I would rather hit up a small/intimate club, and pay a higher ticket price $25-$50, than party with a bunch of 18+ spun out kids for $12.

Just sayin
