interesting.............I dont even know how to respond to that.

question in reference to chimera's comments: we are on a guestlist, does that help with the line situation. I hate going to clubs at like 10.

Posted by phoenixBEBE on Apr-15-2008 19:30:

^^ from past events, if its the DI/General Admission/ Reduced guestlist line is off to the side of the club where u'd get wristbands etc., -- regular GL list would close at 11pm from my knowledge. I think its a separate line from ticketholders etc but not 100% on this.

Posted by sayang on Apr-16-2008 03:02:

Be in line by 10:30 at the latest.

The reduced list ends at 11:00 SHARP;
and trust me, it will be a lengthly line.

Excited to meet some new NYTA's

I'll be around

Thanks Lyssa <3 You're the best. Hurry up and get your asses down here and grace us with your presence A.S.A.P.

The official District Ignition guestlist info (for reduced admission and VIP entry) is provided below. Just going off of what she said; our line is located on the side of the building while all other guestlists are meshed in with the general admission line (upwards of 8+ promoter lists + general admission + lists close at 11 = no bueno). The District Ignition guestlist/VIP line generally closes between 12 Midnight and 1 am, dependant on traffic and the amount of presale tickets unaccounted for, so it is advised to try and not arrive later than MIDNIGHT.

Any questions do not hesitate to contact me and i'll answer you as soon as i'm done reading (usually within 24 hours). Also, if you see a big bald white guy wearing a glow shirt hovering back and forth down the line, come introduce yourself as a TA peep and i'll make sure you feel right at home once I get inside.

Thanks,
Steve/Pseudo Society

What You Need To Do:

1. Email [email protected] with your name and the names of any friends NO LATER THAN 8PM ON SATURDAY. Indicate in the subject line or body of the email that you're sending in names for FERRY @ GLOW)

2. Include FIRST AND LAST NAMES PLEASE! We will accept "plusses" but they must show up with you at the door, otherwise, they'll have to stand in the long line & pay full price.

3. Arrive no later than MIDNIGHT and talk to whoever has the clipboard - advise them you are on the DISTRICT IGNITION guestlist. The District Ignition VIP quick-entry line is located on the SOUTH end of the building (to the left side wall of the club if you're facing the front). All other guestlists are ran in the general admission line at the front of the building, so DO NOT GO TO THE GENERAL ADMISSION/FRONT ENTRANCE LINE.

If you do not recieve a confirmation, please contact Steve via AIM (ElectronicReign). Some email providers (AOL in particular) mark our email as spam, so you may need to check your junk box... If so, please ensure that we are on your safe recipients list to avoid this issue in the future...
As ever, DI appreciates your support and patronage.

anybody meeting up early for the event? perhaps at the mcdonalds located down the street would be an easy meet.if not anyone/everyone/or group of people meeting up somewhere in the club?

Posted by Pseudo Society on Apr-17-2008 04:35:

Though it is pretty damn safe around the club and within basically a 1-2 block radius around it, I wouldn't suggest meeting at that McDonalds due to a history of shit sometimes going sour there (usually when the clubs let out, but not always the case). If you send me the link to the route you plan on travelling I can prolly suggest some better/safer/tolerable locations for a meetup if peeps want. Assuming it's the same route everyone else is taking, too. =\

To answer you specifically, it all depends on which guestlist you're on All guestlists except ours and DJs close at 11 SHARP (i'm the guy that does all lists which are in the general admission line, trust me on this one). Sooo ... lemme know if you want me to add some names to the DI list.

Regarding our list/line specifically: we share the same line with presale tickets. No guestlist besides Ferry/Breakfasts will provide a discount more than -$5 off. There has only been 2 occassions that I can recall where our line has taken more than 30 minutes to get through, but those occured during PVD and AVB when Ibiza had only been opened a short time. We learn from our mistakes (I think?) and have not had any line issues since then. If you want to get in the fastest, I say arrive NLT 11 pm ... otherwise, you'll still get in fastest in our line and you'll still get the discount past 11 pm. I don't want to say it's common for the general admission line to exceed 45 minutes-1+ hours waiting time, but i've seen it happen on a few occassions.

Sorry so lengthy, I think i'm done selling our list for this event lol. But hopefully it'll cover our discount/VIP line procedures for any future events you might attend.

No problem. I'll keep an eye out for ya. Easy way to spot me besides being big, white, and bald (orly skinhead'esk?) is to look for the large scar above my left eye ... it came from that McDonalds due to being there at the wrong time.

Tennis shoes on women are pretty much unrestricted, so long as you don't look like you're homeless. As far as men go, the general rule of thumb that we are supposed to be passing along is that if you wear tennis shoes, they should be/mimic casual-style designer tennis shoes such as Diesel, Asics, Puma, etc. to give a few examples. Types of shoes they won't let guys wear through the doors: the typical yellow/orange Timberland workboots, running or basketball shoes, and i've seen all-white flats (adidas specifically comes to mind) turned away before at one point. Chimera hit the nail on the head when she said shoes should be black ... but I will go out on a limb here and state that so long as the shoes are clean at least attempt to break the color spectrum past white a bit, you should be alright.

The club is slated to close at 3 am, and will generally turn the lights on for a few minutes somewhere in the neighborhood of 2:45 am, as a makeshift warning I suppose. Typically the party ends anywhere from 3:15 am and I think our latest thus far has been around 4-4:15 am. The difference in times is primarily influenced by the size and momentum of the crowd at hand after 3 am hits.

3am?? wtf!

btw I sent you a pm pseudo.

Posted by Pseudo Society on Apr-18-2008 16:07:

Yeah, it sucks, I know. Ibiza is still relatively new and thankfully put in for an afterhours license in 2007 if I recall correctly. Doesn't get approved quickly, however, every week (literally)renovations have been being made to the club to meet standards that will aid in the approval as well as push it forward through the ranks of other applications. If I had to guess what time I think the party would end, I would say in the neighborhood of 4 am based on his draw last time we had him out.

This also just reminded me of something (please don't kill me, I didn't do it):

BE ADVISED:
Though it may not be in effect for this Saturday, Ibiza's rooftop (MORE IMPORTANTLY - SMOKING AREA) has been closed down and undergoing mandatory renovations per the D.C. fire marshal. The fire marshal has also required Ibiza to not allow cigarettes, lighters, or matches into the club. If this is still in effect as of Saturday night, the Ibiza staff is required to collect any cigarette packs, lighters, and matches during the pat-down searches.

Let me just say that this is not the choice of Ibiza's and that they must comply with the order with no exceptions. I apologize up-front for this mess and sincerely hope it will be resolved prior to Saturday night. In the event that it is not resolved, PLEASE do not bring your ciggarettes, lighters, matches with you as it stands the possibility of being taken. This is most definetly a temporary issue, and will not be again in the future. I just wanted to warn all of you especially considering you're all probably in the dark regarding this restriction. I will be bringing a lot of extra nicotine gum, and will gladly hook you up in the event the ban is still in place.

I'm 99% sure that you guys are the only ones that have gotten this warning up til now, though, so before someone considers biting my head off, just remember that I thought of you guys first so you wouldn't get your shit tossed in a bin and lost forever. Also, jesus will kick a puppy every time someone gets me confused with the fire marshal and expect me to rectify the ban. Think of the puppies.
