[Review] Markus Schulz - Pacha - 5/23
Hai Guyz! Where's the thread?
Everyone had so much damn fun that we are all just rolling out of bed and checking the interwebs now
I do believe I'm voting this party of the year for me. Or at least it ties with Fedde Le Gand at Cielo.
I had been coming alone and so was Tom when we ran into each other and shared a cab over to Pacha for the last leg or our journey. So that started out well enough saving money on the cab. Just missed you Marcello.
I did my best to get there sooner, but I got held up. Then Zack came on and he was playing some crazy stuff! I have no idea what it was but it was really good
I did make it in time to get a t-shirt, thanks guys!
After that we went down to the basement a few more times but spent the majority of the time on the main floor. The crowd was perfect. It was crowded but not too much. And I was hard pressed to find very many sketchy grimy folks there! I guess they all went away for the holiday. Good. There was one harmless guy trying to do a mating dance towards me, but mah posse kept him at bay
All in all I had the loveliest time ever. The music was good, but quite honestly it probably had more to do with the company. I couldn't have asked for a better group of friends to spend the evening with. It was perfect. And breakfast afterwards was great. Good company, good food... I don't know if I really thought I could have eaten that giant plate of food, but I did enjoy sampling a little part of each thing on it, lol. And that fresh squeezed orange juice? Awesome!
Molly, I need to take some lessons from your scarf. Boy did it know how to work a room!
Favorite funny moment of the night:
It was getting near the end of the night and Molly and I are leaning against one of the pillars facing the dj booth on the right. Andrew is dancing near us but looking in the opposite direction. This guy comes up and starts dancing his way closer and closer to Andrew. It's a few seconds before Andrew notices this guy's mating dance, when he jumps back, thrusts his arms out in front of him and starts shaking his head, NO NoNoNoNoNo! And then looks at us with this horror stricken look on his face and points, did you just see what happened?!!
Some pics:

^^ Oh yea THAT guy, in the background... he was the one doing the mating dance towards me

Hey guys, sorry we missed you all...I've been working really stupid hours lately. We were all set to come and my body had other ideas. I hit the wall and could not be dislodged!!
It sounds like it was a great time and judging by your pics, Erica, it was a night Molly's scarf will not soon forget!
Fun times fo sho! 2 bottles for 4 people = crunkville!!
Markus Played some good tunes, but I really liked him a lot more towards the end when he was playing a little harder
He has the cutest little booty shake dance!! LOL! Left about a half an hour before it ended (due to high alcohol content and looong ass day) but felt satisfied with the 5 hours I saw of him.
Not the usual crowd...not as many TA's as the usual night, but the crowd was awesome and I met a ton of new peeps that I love and had a blast with!
Marcello was great, too. I suck at making his gigs (something ALWAYS goes wrong) so wai and I set out VERY early just to make sure we saw him spin...lol when we got there, there were ZERO people on the main floor!! He filled the place up tho, and we just love our jersey boy. <3 hahah! Good to meet the upstairs openers as well (sorry I forget the names, prolly due to grey goose amnesia!)
Also....+1 to fleet week!!!
boys in sailor suits OH MY!!! <3 <3

Markus Schulz @ Pacha - (05-23-08)

i had a jolly good time, music was great but my body was tired
. i was so damn exhausted i couldn't think straight. i heard people took photos of me napping on the mezzinine...awesome that's what i get for missing out on my normal nap
before i head out. anyhow, got there early to check out marcello's set which i am glad we did because we missed out last week. alterimage was feeling your set too
and it was nice meeting the two of you. i wish i dragged myself downstairs more...the floor definitely has MORE energy and i missed out on that...
love my t-shirt kerrine/zack and wanted to throw it on right then i realized it wouldn't look right with a t-shirt over my dress
. zack i owe you a beer, unfortunately just remembered after i left pacha. anyhow, great seeing all the TAs out and about. Hope everyone enjoys their long weekend!!!
i spyz alot of guyz

lol
some nice tracks he played.. the expected tracks and some not but pretty good.. thx.
It was a good night, I really enjoyed Eco and Zack's set in the basement. Markus started out kind of boring, but it seemed like at 2am he really stated to rip it. We had to leave early to catch a bus, but that's another story.
Also good to meet some of the TA members that I haven't meet yet.

Pix & Vids tomorrow
Arrived w/ Ali around 10:30, in time for most of Eco's set. Saw lots of TA's and were introduced to some other regulars (thanks Molly!), though, I somehow managed to miss Big Mike (you must have been pretty deep in the Schulz crowd earlier in the night?) Spent most of the time downstairs enjoying the Eco / Zack / Emjae prog house fest. Personal highlights of each set were "Surin (Quivver)," "Postcard from Alexandria (Jay Lumen)," and "Adventure" (Lifelike), respectively.
I missed Schulz play both Arnej tracks and the Lemon and Einar K remix of "Daydream." Bummer.
I was bummed to arrive to Pacha so late, but I was at the Yankees game and then a late dinner with my cousins. When I showed up, though, the basement was really busy... the crowd was definitely eating up Emjae's tracks. Heard lots of his originals & remixes, and they all went over really well. Nicely done.
I ventured upstairs to hear Markus for a bit, he was playing Twilight and the whole floor was jumping up and down with their hands in the air. Hate on the fluff as you will, but it certainly evokes a reaction from the crowd. Would have liked to have heard some of his darker/heavier sounds, but such is life. The dance floor was very busy, but I was able to easily move around the perimeter of the room. Good energy and generally friendly/polite people. I headed downstairs and did my thing and had a great time. Thanks to Ian and Adam for having me, to all the DJ's who kept the music bumpin, and to everyone else who was dancing and contributing to the all-around good vibes of the night.
Great pics Tom, Fuckin A, sucks that i missed it

Great times on Friday! I am very glad to hear everyone enjoyed it and thank everyone for the kind words.
Big thank you to Made for having us work on the event with them.
Upstairs was def a great vibe and its great to play with Markus again. We got to play some fun tracks and work my FX box a bit.
Downstairs was rocking. Everyone sounded great and the party was going off just as much down there. Thanks to the Cloudbreak duo for the shirts, Mike and Emjae for coming down from Boston and Eco for doing his thing.
Met some TA's which was a lot of fun but waking up the next morning at 9am to drive to DC was not.
Thanks again to everyone for coming out.
