Ghost Smilie Creepy dance music

Do you have any favorite tracks that you get kind of a creepy, unsettled vibe from?

I've been loving Mathew Jonson's "Marionette" and "Symphony for the Apocalypse" lately.

Headroom - Never End

Uses a creepy quote from Philip K. Dick - A Scanner Darkly.

"Charles Freck, becoming progressively more and more depressed by what was happening around him, decided, finally, to off himself. There was no problem in the circles where he hung out in putting an end to yourself. You just bought a large quantity of downers and took them with some cheap wine. The planning part had to do with the artifacts he wanted found on him by later archeologists. He had spent several days deciding, much longer than he had spent deciding to kill himself. He would be found lying on his back, on his bed, with a copy of Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead and an unfinished letter to Exxon, protesting the cancellation of his gas credit card. That way, he would indite the system, and achieve something by his death, over and above what the death itself achieved. At the last moment, he changed his mind on a decisive issue and decided to drink the pills with a connoisseur wine, instead of Ripple or Thunderbird. So he set off on one last drive, over to Tiny's Liquors, which specialized in fine wines, and bought a bottle of 2001 Azalea Springs Merlot, which set him back almost seventy dollars. Back home again, he uncorked the wine, let it breathe, drank a few glasses of it, tried to think of something meaningful but could not, and then, with a glass of Merlot, gulped down all the pills at once. However, he had been burned. Instead of quietly suffocating, Charles Freck began to hallucinate. The next thing he knew, a creature from between dimensions was standing beside his bed, looking down at him disapprovingly. Your sins will be read to you ceaselessly, in shifts, throughout eternity. The list will never end"

sounds of experimental electronic music to droning metal, “endlessly elapsing evil” is my third mix on the ROBOTS site. titled to describe its dark theme, the 50 tracks spanning 80 minutes are suggestive of the murky time we live in. grim sounds so wonderful at this moment; it encourages listeners to surrender to the inevitable. the light at the end of the tunnel is actually a train, and when one accepts death, the funeral sounds of deep matte black music that may have once been evil, are now good.

"Dexter" by Villalobos has a pretty similar vibe, as well as Guido Schneider "Re-Moved" (which is a version of "Moved").

A lot of older dubstep (2004-2005) is quite disturbing. D1 - Crack Bong (Loefah Remix) is the best example I can think of right now.

This looks brilliant drone/dark ambient/metalgaze, i really like those types of dark, experimental music.

A few monts ago i was really into drone stuff, like Stars of the Lid, The Dead Texan, Labradford, Loscil,Robert Rich, Lustmord, Eluvium. An amazing dark ambient album is "Cold Summer" by Lull. Plus, the more drone-metal/metalgaze stuff such as Sunn O)),Earth, Jesu, Nadja, The Angelic Process, Khanate etc. are also very good.

Here are two fully downloadable tunes by Nadja. Its not dance, but its dark, slow and ethereal and kind of melancholic, great for listening. Very dismal and autumnal for the summer-time though! For the more adventurous....

Nadja - "Stays Demons"

http://freedownloads.last.fm/downlo...ys%2BDemons.mp3

Nadja - "Base Fluid"

http://freedownloads.last.fm/downlo...ase%2BFluid.mp3

"Symphony for The Apocalypse" is indeed dark, a similar artist who used to make such dark, but kind of more abstract techno was Lawrence with his two albums "The Absence of Blight" and "This Night Will Last Forever" in Ladomat label (if i remember well). Definitely check.
