This track deserves a thread of it's own
iTAL tEK - White Mark
Sample here.
The atmosphere is simply brilliant, indescribable.
Very original sounding and pleasant to the ear.
Top stuff. ![]()
respect for recommending dubstep, but not feeling this one too much. i like the dubstep tunes that have minimal techno influences, like this one, (i consider it influenced this way), but these tracks always seem to lack that trademark wobble bass that makes people go nuts.
Heh, I have yet to hear dubstep live (hopefully next month on Exit Festival in Serbia), but so far this track is making me very happy at the moment, even on home speakers.
Hah, I'm just listening to his 'Cyclical' album.
This is like downtempo meets dubstep - which I don't mind - with a pretty unique atmosphere. I guess I prefer the techy stuff more, but this is still loads better than the usual tunes that get released. Pleasurable listen, really.
Its ok...

I was not a fan of Cyclical, only given it one listen though. Too much faceless IDM wankery.

Sounds like a chimpanzee got loose in the studio and started pushing buttons.
Not my style.

Not a fan of the beat, but the pads/atmos synths work well.
Also listened to Cyclical just once. Sounds quite subtle, I think it's one of those albums you have to listen to more than once to really appreciate it. Haven't heard too much of "faceless IDM wankery" (except on Bloodline), and there are a couple of tracks that sound really good even on the first listen (besides White Mark which is indeed a standout), like Wind Tunnel, Versus and Red Sky.
This dubstep could really replace mnml/th as the next trendy thing with more albums like these...

IDM, huh? Thank god I'm not so intelligent that I would listen to this kind of stuff.

This thread is now about Blackdown's great selection on his latest Rinse show. This encompasses pretty much everything that I love about dubstep.
