Thumbs up This track deserves a thread of it's own

iTAL tEK - White Mark

Sample here.

The atmosphere is simply brilliant, indescribable.
Very original sounding and pleasant to the ear.
Top stuff.

respect for recommending dubstep, but not feeling this one too much. i like the dubstep tunes that have minimal techno influences, like this one, (i consider it influenced this way), but these tracks always seem to lack that trademark wobble bass that makes people go nuts.

Posted by Gauss on Jun-27-2008 18:17:

Heh, I have yet to hear dubstep live (hopefully next month on Exit Festival in Serbia), but so far this track is making me very happy at the moment, even on home speakers.

Hah, I'm just listening to his 'Cyclical' album.

This is like downtempo meets dubstep - which I don't mind - with a pretty unique atmosphere. I guess I prefer the techy stuff more, but this is still loads better than the usual tunes that get released. Pleasurable listen, really.

I finished it yesterday.

Oh, indeed.

I was not a fan of Cyclical, only given it one listen though. Too much faceless IDM wankery.

Agreed, a bit too much on the IDM side.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind IDM, I even like a good deal of it, but I expected more of "clean" dubstep.

Sounds like a chimpanzee got loose in the studio and started pushing buttons.

Not my style.

Coming from someone who has trance in his name...
Yeah, I don't think I'll take your reply in consideration.

Not a fan of the beat, but the pads/atmos synths work well.

Posted by sljiva on Jun-29-2008 18:16:

Also listened to Cyclical just once. Sounds quite subtle, I think it's one of those albums you have to listen to more than once to really appreciate it. Haven't heard too much of "faceless IDM wankery" (except on Bloodline), and there are a couple of tracks that sound really good even on the first listen (besides White Mark which is indeed a standout), like Wind Tunnel, Versus and Red Sky.

This dubstep could really replace mnml/th as the next trendy thing with more albums like these...

I don't think there's any "faceless IDM wankery" at all, just that the album itself is too IDM influenced.
But like I've said, I don't mind that much. I just expected more pure dubstep.

And I certainly hope it won't.

You've not been to England.

Yeah, I know it's big there, but only there. Hopefully it stays that way.
One way or another, living in Croatia and listening to any EDM genre makes you a minority so I'm safe at least here.

Posted by enydo on Jun-29-2008 22:42:

I like it.

Well that makes no sense dude, especially since I registered years ago.

Nice try.

IDM, huh? Thank god I'm not so intelligent that I would listen to this kind of stuff.

Now if you post a thread about a track you have to expect that not everyone agrees with you.
If you don't like that, go to www.dubstep.nu
