The RIAA is so fucking stupid and annoying as hell. Rather than going about things in a normal, civilized manner, what do they do? they bash and sue AG's ass.
Now if they lose, they get nothing, if they win, they get more people hating them, and more publicitiy to Audiogalaxy.
Good god, when will they learn? The people who use Audiogalaxy are INTELLEGENT when it comes to finding MP3s. these people will just use WinMX or FTP or DC or something else.
The dumb users which buy their cash-cow Pop CDs, use KaZaA and Morpheus, not AG. AG is too difficult for them to use.
And I wouldn't bash their blocking system, they blocked the SHIT out of Theme from Norfjell.
well....I have one more thing to say...
FUCK THE RIAA! By suing Napster, it got massive publicity, and unleashed this beast against them, and now they are pissy. Fuck THEM! I'm sick of em. God fucking god i'm pissed right now.
Kinda makes u feel like smashing up some record stores or something eh... 
What really makes me angry is that it's the RIAA's own fault that nobody wants to pay for music anymore. Firstly, the RIAA and it's Euro counterpart have been price-fixing for years. Consider you can buy a blank cd for 50 cents. They obviously buy in bulk, thus the CD itself probably costs less than 10 cents. Add in a few dollars per CD for shipping, promotion etc, and bingo there's at least $10 profit from every CD.
Second, they only want to sell albums. This is because a single costs much the same to produce, but can only be sold for half the price. So they want everybody to buy albums. Trouble is, nobody wants to spend all that money on an album without knowing if they'll like it. So you'd much rather buy the single of that song you like, rather than buying the entire album.
Can't go and buy the single, it's not in any of the local music shops. Hop on the net, download it.
But according to them, it's not their fault that everybody is a dirty pirate and wants to screw them out of business. And of course they do the first thing that almost every f**king American seems to do - reach for the lawyers.

the internet brought a new revolution to the music industry and if the RIAA cant keep up, they will parish in the dust as a usless oldfasioned out of date organisazion , right now they've almost fallen off the back of the motorcycle

God, i HATE the fucking RIAA. Audiogalaxy was the only decent p2p for finding trance. Anyone know any good alternatives?

Man,when are these people going to learn??!?!?!Music sharing on the net CAN NOT be stopped,and it's a battle they CAN NOT win!!!No matter how many programs that will be sued or shut down,there will always be some other program there to take it's spot.The only thing this legal action gets them is more hate towards themselves and more publicity towards the programs targeted,which most definately will increase use of such programs.RIAA are just too damn greedy and money mad to realize this,and because of that they continue to ruin some of the best music resources around.If the same thing happens to AG as with Napster,I'm gonna break something....
Isn't it all a little strange?I mean it's for the most part only large commercial artists who are alredy bloated with cash that really are bothered with this.Many independant artists consider it a great way to promote themselves,and some even feel HONORED when somebody chooses to dl one of their tracks(Tiesto and Moby for instance).It's obvious that you can't stop file sharing on the net.So why not try to use it for your own benefit?I wonder if they've ever thought of the possiblites that lie in using file sharing as a marketing option.Even now,a lot of people use these file sharing programs as a try-before-you-buy option:they dl a track from a album,and if they like it,they usually go out and buy the album.Why can't they see the possibilities that lie in this??!?!?!?!

imo AG should stop the hosting of shitty pop songs and "simon and garfunkel" shit, i think this is where the biggest problem comes from

While it will suck if AG goes down, it won't be the end of the world. People will still be able to find music through the mediums the RIAA can't touch - FTP, IRC, DC, etc.
Well really what do they expect as soon as audiogalaxy goes down, people are just gonna start again with something else, be it kazaa winMX or FTP. all they are really doing is just making us change mediums every 2 years, Its a pointless neverending battle.

AG is by far the no.1 place to find trance and heaps of other obscure stuff.
I'm just sick of RIAA terrorising the p2p file sharing networks with their fucking lawsuits and shit !!!
I do feel for all those big record companies who are loosing heaps of money but it doesn't justify shutting down the whole site and where ppl like us has to suffer as a result.
I suggest they do more intensive blocking on all that top 40 commercial crap and leave trance and the other underground stuff alone.

Anyway, basicly it's the major labels (Universal, Sony, WEA, BMG, EMD) that are throwing their fits and causing the RIAA to send out their attack dogs (and by the way, most of these companies operate OUTSIDE of America also, so calm down with all the America hate).
It's true, whatever gets shut down, another takes its place. The unfortunate thing is eventually the RIAA will come up with a steep punishment that will scare prospective sites away. Then again, there's always FTP sharing like in pre-Napster times. Another problem is popularity. Once one of these sites gets popular, they become an instant target for the RIAA. Another thing - record companies like to claim that MP3's are ruining the artist's livlihood, yet they neglect to mention that its generally the profits of the record companies that are suffering, not the artists.
Personally, I think the music industry had this coming. I mean, come on... $20 for a domestic CD? Give me a break. Cassettes stayed around the same price for almost their entire shelflife whereas the price of CD's has doubled. It's good old-fashioned greed. Artists weren't suffering when prices were $10, why should they be suffering so much now? Plus, I really can't sympathize with these big marquee artists who make more in one year than I probably will in my lifetime. And I'm supposed to feel sorry that they only made 2 million this year instead of 2.5? get real. Smaller artists benefit more from the exposure, so it's the big ones causing all the fuss.
