wtf?

What the FUCK? That's really disturbing? How does that happen? I've never seen anything like that. I feel really disturbed now. I'm never hitting a soccer ball with my head.

[edit] I read on youtube comments (not sure if it's a reliable source) that a kick in the side of the head triggered something and he had a seizure on the filed, but he was hospitalized and is fine now.

When the fuck was this?

Looks like the hit made his brain just send arbitrary signals. Crazy

It is sad seeing that happen.

A really sad one is Mikls Fehr, who died 25th of January 2004 of a heart attack on the field. One moment he was getting a yellow card - then he clutches his chest and falls over.

I am not going to post the youtube. If you want to watch it - google it. It is disturbing.

I am amazed at how many footballers actually die from heart related ailments.

And from what I can tell.. in Vivid's video - the player - Abdulrahman Al-Shoaibi did not die.

I think the music made it more eerie than it really was... with that being said though, it was fucking creepy and weird as all hell.

WTF?

Ian, do you remember that Spanish player that suffered a similar seizure and died on the field no less than a year ago? I believe he was Segunda Division, but you might have more relevant data on it.

it was the primera division, antonio puerta of Sevilla in the game against Getafe at the Ramon Sanchez Pijuan stadium in Seville. The guy was like 22 I think and was pretty much on line for a call up to the spanish national side again when he just keeled over on the pitch. They took him off & none of us knew what'd happened but I had a gut feeling something wasn't right & at halftime he had a heart attack and ended up in hospital, but he died a few days later. So fucking sad, he was a great young player, exciting to watch and would've most likely been in the spain squad for euro 2008, which is why when they won, Sergio Ramos who was a youth team player with him at Sevilla until being sold to real madrid wore a t-shirt in his memory which he showed at the end of the game.

Actually, just noticed it was 12 months ago yesterday (28th) that it happened.

video of him & what actually happened. RIP Sir.

Also others have happened, including Marc-Vivien Foe who had just played with Man City for the season before collapsing of a heart-attack playing for Cameroon in the confederations cup.

And also Phil O'Donnell last season, captain of Motherwell, ex celtic player too

Btw, does anyone find it suspicious that the number of soccer players dying of cardiac arrest/heart attacks has almost exploded since 2005, if compared by earlier years?
