New Facebook

Disgusting.

Posted by Ian on Sep-14-2008 19:22:

tis rather grotesque

Posted by hasbone on Sep-14-2008 19:27:

People really need to stop bitching about it. It's cleaner, it's faster, it's easier to navigate not only on your own page but others as well. It make take time to get used to but that's why they gave you the option to try it out for a month or so before THEY changed it for good, that way when it was permenant there wouldn't be people going "OMG CHAOS SOMETHING NEW"

wide screen annoys me and whilst some things are kinda ok, most of the info I'm used to checking out just doesn't seem to be in the right place. I like the simplicity of the old one though.

I hated it at first but I love it now since I figured out where everything is. It also gives you more control over how your profile looks like.

A FUCKING MEN!!!!!!!

People need to get past the OMFGITSDIFFERENTIAMGOINGTODIEBECAUSEOFCHANGE shit and just use it. Get used to it, and realize that it is much better than before.

Posted by Sunsnail on Sep-14-2008 19:44:

No, I don't like it.

Posted by Acton on Sep-14-2008 19:45:

Nothing wrong with it IMO

^ that + too fuckin' bad, it's changed, get over it and move on. If you're really upset because , " oh shit, a few buttons are changed around", delete it.

it is better because all those gay applications everyone has do not make the pages load in 20 minutes on high speed connections.

+1. That is one of the biggest improvements I love about it.

For all you asshats that think that it sucks, please give me one GOOD reason that it isn't beter. Not this "it's just different" answer shit. A good reason.

Posted by Frenchie on Sep-14-2008 19:52:

Not very many people liked it when it was first introduced and ready to test out. I didn't, my friends didn't, hell I'm sure my mother didn't either. I tried it and switched back within hours. I later switched back to the new Facebook because I knew it was going to be a permanent change within months, so I played around with it, tested a few things out and got familiarized with it just like we all had to do when we first joined Facebook to begin with.

combining mini-feed and wall is just wrong.
also the personality info has been removed.
and the layout itself is just ugly.

1. Why was it wrong.
2. Are you sure it wasn't just turned off by default?
3. How is it ugly. Just saying it is, is arbitrary. It can't be arbitrary.

I've been using it for a month now so am very comfortable with it. I still prefer the old version.

..because this was important, right?

Of all people I am curious of your reasoning.

1. Because the "wall" was supposed to be your personal guestbook, while informing who which person you "just added as your friend" is distracting news. I just dont see how these two kinds of platforms belong together. I click "show posts by others" but it wont even stick for good.
2. No. You gotta click the info part each time instead of it being part of "your page", or whatever is left of it.
3. It not friendly to the eye and would be suit better to websites like nickelodeon or cartoon networks.

indeed. When being added I'd always like to immediately see his location, birthdate, education info as well as the person's movie/music/book tastes. What else is your "facebook" for if not for telling the most basic info abt yourself and getting in touch with others.

1. It is smart because it is a chronological view of what happened. Having 10 places to find small quick tidbits is stupid. Really what you are complaining about is the fact that you are not an effective internet user that can just find the info you need and discard the rest mentally.
2. Oh because you look at someones personality info 100x a day looking for a change. yeah ok. Don't complain about stupid shit like this. FB is not a dating site. You can use it like one, but that is not its intention. www.match.com sounds more suited for you in this aspect.
3. It is friendly to the eye. It has colors that help your eyes separate the different posts, text sections, etc. How is that NOT easier on the yes?
