the stuff coming on around 2002-04 from Chable/Micali/Infusion etc. is probably my favorite progressive "trance" of the sorts.

Gabriel and Dresden for the most part from those days too.

This man has it right

I would add Ozgur Can to the list as well...

Beautiful Things by Andain was great, especially the Tiesto and the Photon Project Remixes. I just remembered, scrolling through my old music folder, that Easter Island by Art of Trance is sick. Actually, Art of Trance are sick in general. But I just realized looking at that folder I can name so many. The Prophet by CJ Bolland, Exploration of Space by Cosmic Gate, Ligaya by Gouryella, Gamemaster by Lost Tribe, dammit the list can go on.

Right now I'd say guys like Jerome Isma-ae, Martin Roth, Moonbeam, Glenn Morrison, Brisker & Magitman and Zoo Brazil are doing a good job.

Him and Alex M. Alex I think makes the best prog mixes currently.

i'd like to specifically add a song -

Ava Mea - In The End (Hydroid & Santiago Nino Remix)

You could argue that as terrible as tiesto is these days that
In Search of Sunrise 4 is the best example of progressive trance because it is extremely emotive
esp. the sequence in disc 1 from tilt-twelve(dousk remix) through Luminary-My World (Andy Moor Remix)

My favorite progressive trance though has to be gareth emery and andy moor
Andy Moor wins on the merit of how amazing his set was at ETD LOVE
he also is responsible in part for TILT-Twelve which has to go down as one of the best productions of all time
Also David West Deserves Major Props!

JUST RECOGNIZE AT HOW FUNDAMENTAL ANDY MOOR IS TO THE EQUATION OF PROGRESSIVE TRANCE

Posted by Funkesthesiac69 on Oct-12-2008 14:27:

Best example of recent progressive trance I have ever heard
Andy Moor-Live At Black Sea Dream
You can download it off of any torrent provider or p2p

Also for me, Hydroid, Blue Haze, and of course Benz and MD.... awesome stuff coming out 3-4 years ago.

Definitely mad props
I just wish more producers were producing shit like these guys today!
Take a signal from these forums if you are a producer people want quality progressive trance esp. if it has dark overtones

Whoa. Forgot about this tune. progressive trance BOMB!

Posted by AY STAR on Oct-13-2008 12:55:

isos 3
amazing amazing prog
i listen to that cd from start to finish without skipping any songs

Posted by fbgdavidson on Oct-13-2008 15:22:

I'm still not 100% sure of where the blurred boundaries between prog and trance begin...A few producers that might fit into the category:

Benz & MD (Wonder is, and always will be one of my favourite tunes ever)
Jay Lumen (Million Years and Inner Tour are just too fantastic for words)
Snake Sedrick (too many to list!)
Dousk
Tilt

Some of these may be nom de plumes...

Tilt - Butterfly (Tilt's Mechanism Mix) quality tune.
highly recommended. dark with great vocals and epic breakdown.

Butterfly

and the flipside, Paul van Dyk & Tilt - Rendezvous (Quadrophonic Remix) is a really amazing prog/trance tune. perfect elements of both styles. long rasps building up and the melody from my second favourite trance tune: Tilt - Invisible (Matty Darey Lost Tribe Mix)

Rendezvous

I dig Andy Moor`s music, but i wouldnt call it progressive, just trance.

Everything that is NOT fluffy Anjunatrance seems to be called progressive these days.
