Traktor Scratch Pro?
Anyone heard anything about this? Source came from here
I haven't heard anything about this. Doesn't look much different from the "regular" version.
Anyone know retail price? I was thinking of getting Traktor or Serato so this could be a definite go.

Some are saying it comes with the 4 deck feature without having to upgrade to traktor 3 like the previous traktor scratch, and some more effects.
idk, picture looks a bit fake and I can't find any information on it anywhere. In that link I posted people were saying NI keeps taking down any threads about the topic on certain websites. Can either mean they want to keep it hush hush or its bullshit.
gaaaaaaaay. I want traktor so bad and could purchase it right now but this is making me hold off.
The BPM trade show is this weekend. I'd wait to see if there are product announcements then. It looks like this was leaked to manufacturers, then pulled back.

Dear Traktor user,
On behalf of the Traktor team, I am happy to introduce the
next generation of our DJ technology to you today - called
TRAKTOR PRO. The "Pro" stands for "professional", and in
fact the new Traktor makes some important steps forward
that I would like to explain to you.
After many years of development history, starting with the
release of the very first Traktor version in 2001, we have
come a long way in the technological evolution of DJ gear.
Specifically, DJ software has developed from a "geek tool"
to a standard platform for DJs of all styles and
experience levels. Something that we were especially proud
of is that around one fourth of all DJs in the current "DJ
Mag Top 100" are now using Traktor Scratch and/or Traktor
3 as their main DJ tool.
The new Traktor generation that we are announcing today
was designed to take this paradigm shift into account, and
to push DJ technology forward even further. On November
1st, Traktor 3 and Traktor Scratch will be succeeded by
Traktor Pro and Traktor Scratch Pro, with both product
versions now based on the same new Traktor Pro software.
Traktor Pro was designed with a strong focus on a
professional DJ approach - for playing out live in a
performance environment. The new version brings many
additions, refinements and changes to the software you
know. Our central aim was to improve Traktor in a way that
supports and inspires you on the actual creative act of
DJing in the best possible way, and that reduces all the
associated maintenance and preparation effort as much as
possible.
For Traktor Pro, we have strongly optimized the user
interface and given it a much clearer look and a very
logical, intuitive layout. We have also "supercharged" the
effect capabilities of Traktor, an area that we know is
very important for many users. Other major areas of
improvement include looping and cueing, beatgridding, sync
features, browser and database handling, and MIDI control
- please check our website for detailed info.
Redesigning the interface for the new Traktor generation
also allowed us to integrate the timecode functionality in
a more efficient way. You will find that the related
functions in Traktor Scratch Pro are integrated
seamlessly, from the improved timecode scopes within the
decks to the convenient handling of the timecode signal
calibration.
The workflow improvements in Traktor Pro are based on many
months of conceptual research and usability tests, and of
course on the huge amount of constructive feedback that we
have received from the user community. Some changes might
require you to adapt and even relearn certain ways of
handling loops, cue points and effect controls.
Ultimately, we are confident that you will find the new
way of doing things in Traktor Pro very inspiring and
convenient.
To make Traktor Pro as efficient and reliable as possible,
we have also removed some aspects of the previous Traktor
version that are less relevant within the focus on a
performance application.
In favor of a more compact application, there is no longer
an integrated music store in the Traktor software.
Instead, Beatport will start to include Traktor metadata
with all their new releases in 2009. Beatport also now
offers a special download application that comes with the
same convenient download features that we first
established in Traktor.
There is also no "Native Mix recording" in Traktor Pro
because we gave priority to other aspects of the new
version. You can of course still record your set as an
audio file straight to hard disk. We plan to add mix data
recording functionality to Traktor Pro at some point in
the future.
We will release Traktor Pro and Traktor Scratch Pro on
November 1st. Of course, the development does not stop at
this point. We have many further improvements planned, and
you can expect them to be introduced via free feature
updates in the future.

i like how they're dumping everything you don't need as a professional dj/performer in favour of stability and usability
when you look at the list of big names using this platform, it's almost like the who's who, past and present
the fact that one of the last remaining jetsetters clinging to cds and vinyl (diggers) finally made the switch what was finally sold me on this product, now to see that they're actually catering to the professional crowd, i'm excited
the better sound quality with the audio 8 and the higher resolution timecode (more accuracy) is a HUGE advantage over serato
i've said it before and i'll say it again, real djs use real gear, pros know professional equipment
interesting. i was almost 100% sure this was some internet kid's photoshop job. apparently not then.
i have no idea what changes they've made though. it doesn't seem very clear at all. what will i get for my 79�? is there really a reason to upgrade? i guess i'll have to check the videos later on.
i've been thinking about getting ableton live le for making re-edits of tracks, because i have tons of great tracks with some shit elements. anyway, i really don't get ableton at all. so if traktor pro has features that would make it easy to make re-edits, i would surely upgrade. basically i'd need perfect looping and beatmatching and the ability to set a point in a track to skip, ie. when the track reaches say 5:03, it jumps straight to 5:39 skipping the annoyingly bad vocal gayness for example and being on time and on beat sounding great.
if traktor pro can offer such features, i'm in!
With Serato announcing a new partnership with Ableton, I'm no longer sure which one I want. Probably Serato now as Ableton is my sequencer of choice.
(Edit - I'm an idiot - just checked the NI forums and it seems it's a free upgrade...) I've left in my idiot post below:
The question is (unless I've missed the answer!) are they going to make me upgrade to Traktor Pro AND Scratch Pro if I want to retain four deck action?
I'd happily upgrade for better effects and more stability, but I'm not sure if I'd be happy going through two upgrades for it... we'll see.

That doesn't make any sense, but ok.
Folks, this update just took NI to the next level. Serato is a great product and lots of people will still choose to use it because of it's reputation, but this product SH*TS ALL OVER IT in terms of feature set.
And yes, Traktor Scratch is very very stable. I've been using it for nearly a year now, no major issues, hickups, etc. And I've played 5 hour live club gigs with it.

It makes perfect sense.
I've been hearing that Traktor is better so I was going to hook it up to my gear and laptop and use it.
However, when I produce I use Ableton and the DJing side of Ableton is limitless as well. Remixes on the fly and all that. Now that they have a partnership with Ableton, it makes sense that they could release a fantastic product that goes together really well with Ableton.
Perhaps, but if they are JUST announcing a partnership, it could be quite a long time before a product is released.
I'm sticking with my Traktor Scratch. It works/looks/feels like DJ'ing.
I own Ableton as well, but can't stand DJ'ing with it.
Different strokes... we should all just be glad we have so many choices

My only complaint with regards to Traktor is that it does not display the waveforms in one box, i.e. one on top of the other. Does anybody know if I'm wrong about this or if there is maybe a mod that will allow me to view the waveforms side by side?

so what about the abelton/serato partnership
to this day i still have yet to see a dj that uses abelton to it's full potential in a live setting, not to say there aren't people out there rocking it out, i've just yet to see it myself
and as also pointed out, it's going to be a while before we see something out that works with both, it's going to take some time to develop the software and work out the bugs
