A lot of TA Dj's have kept me motivated through the past year or so, so much skill from guys who aren't even pros, listening to them mix makes me think just how much better I could do, which I find very inspirational.

If that makes any sense.

edit: As for producers, this may come as a shock, but Westbam, yeah.

Artists who are in the business for the love of music, who are truly and geniunely passionated about it. There seem to be too many artists nowadays that want to get into the scene to be worshipped, to get $$ and chicks and "because it's cool to be played by (insert big DJ name here)".

The DJ and producer that motivated me the most to get into DJing and my initial style was Paul Van Dyk. Specifically, his 2001 XXL Clubnight set blew me away since it was one of the first livesets I heard that started off with essentially an hour of house and breaks, the moved into more progressive trance and ended up at epic stuff like nu-nrg n the like.

I loved the idea of crafting a long set that incorporated multiple genres at varying bpm, really gives you a lot of freedom and creativity in constructing a set. I guess I still dj like that today, though i rarely allow the bpm to go over 128 these days since I dabble more in electronica, breaks, various types of house/techno,etc.
