Love Poundin' Sensation Request for wedding assistance :)

Hi guys

I have a few unconventional ideas for our wedding that I would love to execute without huge fees. I know that a lot of you on here are computer junkies and that someone will be able to help me with the first project with ease. There are also a couple of other skills that we are looking for so I thought I would start a thread to see if my online buddies would like to make a bit of side money

Here goes;

1. We would love a 'Wedding Website' - this has to include an RSVP part for guests to respond (I am trying to be as green as I can) as well as information, a place for people to add pics etc and maybe even a bit of a message board. There is a service that offers RSVP responses but I would love to have a website that belongs to us.

2. Does anyone know a really good pianist that will play for about 5 hours (minus the ceremony/speeches and of course breaks, I don't want someone's fingers falling off). A combination of formal wedding tunes (bridal march etc) but then some recognizable tunes as background music - classical to pop and everything in between.

3. Does anyone have connections for craft paper for invitations or a printing specialist? I may just factor this out but I would love recycled paper invitations.

4. Any other ideas gratefully received too

Thanks

Rach

Rachel I can ask my piano teacher for you. He is a nice young guy and I am sure can meet your requirements. I have a lesson tonight, so I will inquire.

Green wedding! <3

Some people I know from childhood just got married and they used http://www.weddingannouncer.com/ to make a website. As far as I know, it's free.

Posted by StereoPrincess on Oct-20-2008 17:02:

the website is a great idea. i am sure someone can quickly create one and all you will have to find is a host.

so you are looking for recycled craft paper to make your own invitations or are you looking for a person to make then that uses recycled paper?

Don't forget to have your wedding party do the Thriller Dance. (cue)

^5 on going green...great idea Rachel

I played the piano at a friend's wedding once. Not for 5 hours though, just a few songs (incl. the song she wanted to walk down the aisle to).

so there is a girl at school that makes invitations and runs her own business.

i asked her if she knew of paper that is recycled and she sent me some info. if you want i can ask her if we can order just the paper through her.

it's called hopsack.

the girl's website for her business is:

http://www.catzyscreations.com/Catz...tions_Home.html

she is the sweetest girl and i saw her with a finished bunch of invitations and they were something out of this world gorgeous.

if you just want to just print invitations on recycled paper you can use the printing house, they don't do design though

Hi Rachel,

I have a friend who is a professional wedding cake designer/baker. If you are interested in seeing her portfolio, I would be more than happy to forward you her information.

She did a stanley cup cake for a hockey fan too!!!

Anyways I will certainly talk to her if you are interested and get some info cause I know they take about 2-3 weeks to make.

I also have a few friends that could dj the wedding j/ks

I have a close friend who is a professional piano player (he has done many weddings and such)

My description of him is horrible, but he's an amazing piano player
Im not sure if he still does that stuff, as he is busy being a music teacher, but if your really interested, then PM me and ill email him

Rach I'd happily loan my piano-playing skills to your wedding but I don't know if I could last 5 hours. If the person you hire wants a break every now and then though, I am up to the task.

Posted by lopi on Oct-21-2008 13:07:

Justin(Jchung52) plays the piano and the violin.
My aunt also does wedding cakes, so if you don't have that covered you can PM me.

Hello!

I've played the piano at weddings before, so if you need my help I'm here!

As for the invitations, I do know someone who owns a printing press, and makes amazing invitations (he made my 18th birthday invitation which looked like a wedding invitation). I just have to find his number. I'll PM you deets.

Posted by English Rachel on Oct-21-2008 19:59:

Wow, I am so impressed with all the talent on here

Ok, my cake is sorted as it is included in my catering so thank you for the offers but I have already paid for it

Invitations - I am not sure what to do here, whether to get the recycled paper and do them myself... hmmm, must do some thinking on that

Jackie, Laura and Lisa, perhaps we could figure something out? Let's chat at some point.

Thank you everyone else, I had no idea this thread would prove so useful!

Yohan, what does 'server space' mean? ok, you can all stop laughing now, I guess I have forgotten how things link up
