I am so so sorry, but it's impossible for me to take this post seriously because as soon as I saw Ireland, I can't stop picturing an angry little leprechaun typing away on his computer muttering to himself in his little leprechaun voice about the economy. XD XD XD XD XD

Hey man, why do you even need to work? Don't you have a pot of gold saved up for hard times like these?!

This is you:

My paper and pen, as a member of The People, just isn't doing enough to fix MY nation. So I'm going dip it in gasoline and then light it on fire for that little extra UMPH.

i dont want to but it gone very bad over here for work.im carpenter and it so fucking quiet at the moment... the chance came up for me to go to london and i taking it!!

Posted by Ian on Oct-25-2008 23:50:

ah so you've got a job? that's definitely different, and being skilled labour, even better. Problem is we have so many people coming in to do the menial jobs, from all over europe, that it's hard for a lot of brits to get work.

My mom got laid off. She works at a place that collects bills and people can't pay their bills anymore so her whole branch closed.

thought Ireland had one of the highest growth rates in europe for the last few years what happened? (k I know what happened but still) dont think here will be much better you might get better pay but everything is more expensive here anyway.

as for coming to london enjoy Ministry of sound I love it. even if it is pricey

Not in my personal life, no. My student loan lender went out of business, I just found another one. One of my credit cards also stopped giving out credit. I had owned stocks, but sold long ago. But I'm going to be entering the market again soon.

I tried to buy a forclosure house & the bank denied me even though i was putting about 1/3 down payment. The bank then said they needed 1/2 since the last owner gutted the house & it wasnt in move in condition. I guess banks arent taking chances anymore. So yep i felt a little sting.

Th'k eR j'rr!

Actually, I'm one of the lucky ones. Beyond the fact that Canada looks to be able to survive the economic downturn more ably than most countries, my job is quite stable (people will always need food, and I'm in one of the lower-rung pay scales, so if they cut hours, it'll be the guys making double my wage taking the hit). Most of my investments are in GICs, and even though my minor Mutual Funds contributions are diving, they'll eventually rebound, well before I cash out for retirement on them.

So long as I keep my debt manageable and spend wisely, I'll probably weather this current recession fine.

recession & increased poverty will most likely increase intolerance & levels of racism...the times we live in & our nature.

So first you want sympathy for needing to move to another country, then you go all xenophobic against people that move to your country. Awesome.
