as for the agis boner, well... 
cocky? how is that possible? our soccer teams usually suck. suck hard. i'm astonished we won. our team had heart and played well, as they have in the qualifying rounds. i didn't think they were at the level to beat portugal though. it's as if portugal didn't even show up! 
now we have to play korea. homefield advantage for them.

it's fun to cheer for the underdog!
we have some very good players. donovan and beasley are rising stars. they play in american league soccer, but are both only in their 2nd year at the pro level. the goalie who was playing today (friedel) is one of the world's best.
i'm very happy for the team. for some reason portugal didn't play well today. i don't think the usa is going to have that sort of luck for the rest of the cup though. 
but at least the usa team played well. 
Group D is starting to get more and more intresting. Korea has won against Poland, well that wasn`t a big suprise to alot of ppl, but USA beatin Portugal, hmmm I think it shocked a bit everyone. Right now everyone has a chance to get a group. Next game between Portugal and Poland will show if one of these two teams can join the race for gettin out of the group. I still believe in Poland that they will get out of the group, since there is still 6 points to gain, so everythin is possible.
very amusing 2 c some of your opening comments at the start of this thread. u really thought it would be like 4-0 to portugal!lol. all teams in this tournament(except saudi arabia lol) are TOTALLY up for this they have nothing to lose. whereas argentina,england,italy,portugal will be more nervous cos of expectations. im not that surprised 2 be honest but OMG @ the portugal keeper! what a reject!

.....what a joke. Where were they?? the Potuguese team that is. The americans have done what Senegal has done as well...and that is SHOCK the hell out of the Futbol world. I for one am so pissed and shocked. But I must give credit where credit is due.. let's not forget that most of their players play for European teams and in European leagues....as well, the the American league is actually pretty good....maybe not as good as the european ones...but still...they produce good talent.
Oh well...Portugal still has a chance to make it..and I can soooooo see them beating up the other teams.

If Portugal don't qualify from this group they should be shot, it's the biggest joke group i've ever seen, imo USA were alot better than I thought they'd be, but still bad, it's just Portugal were total wank, Saudi Arabia strikeforce cudda put a few past their defence today

Ok Guys, some of the scores that you saw were pretty whacked such as,
France 0 - Senegal 1
Portugal 2 - USA 3
Poland 0 - S. Korea 2
After all they are playing for the World Cup and I think it's nothing but a case of butterflies in their stomaches. These teams should bounce back in their next games. However, Portugal will play against my team Poland. Even though Portugal is favored to win, I hope Poland can at least tie them. In this World Cup, anything's possible.
One more thing...
Germany 8 - Saudi Arabia 0
Come on this is a joke. Saudi Arabia doesn't belong in the World Cup. Where's Holland when you need them. They are much more entertaining to watch then Saudi Arabia.
Saudi pretty much had a free ticket...look who they had to face in the preliminaries...
