An Anti-Gay Debate

So, I was talking to some dude from one of my classes today, and I am not sure how it came up, but he made some type of comment like "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. Being gay is wrong, it says so in the bible".

So I asked "How do you feel about lesbians"?

"4 breasts are better than 2!!"

*sigh*

This irritates me. People who use the bible to back up their choice to like or dislike something, but on the very same note, will support what they claim they are against.

I basically called him a hypocrite after that, but then I started to wonder, is it hypocritical of a person to be attracted to something they believe is fundamentally wrong (based on their religious beliefs?)

Is it reasonable to expect someones beliefs to reflect their sexual preferences/attractions?

Discuss.

He would have been better off just saying being gay doesn't promote life. Anyways he sounds like an idiot.

I love those who use their religon as a defense for gay and abortion debate yet they have premarital sex. Like they can pick and choose what to follow.

This is why Im not religous and live guilt free.

You answer that with "I agree its totally disgusting. Hey want to go fuck a 7 year old boy? All the priests are doing it so its must be ok with god then, and so not as disgusting as two men having sex"

Then depending on how religious the douche talking to you is, just stand back and watch the reaction.

On that note being gay is wrong is what the bible says, buy fucking 7 year old boys is all the rage between priests. Well if you forget paedophilia for a moment, isnt that gay sex as well?

He's probably a gay himself.

It's the thing with bible thumping gay bashers, they always focus on how 2 males being together is wrong.
More often than not they don't give a toss about 2 lesbians being together, or rarely discuss it.
They're just using the bible as an excuse for their prejudices against gay men.

Posted by Alex on Feb-10-2009 22:03:

The bible is against homosexual acts. Both between heterosexual men and homosexual men (yes heterosexuals used to and still do prostitute themselves and what not).

But the bible doesn't promote hating gay people, any person who follows the bible's teachings and hates gay people and persecutes them/makes them feel like shit/etc are hypocrites and deserved to be called out on it.

It's dumb that a religion of love and peace gets so perverted by people who use it to judge others and to push their political/cultural agendas.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Feb-10-2009 22:10:

The idea of homosexuality as an "orientation" based on what you "really feel inside" didn't even exist before the late nineteenth century. Before that time, sexuality was just a matter of what you actually did. The Bible doesn't even contain a concept of "sexual orientation," because the idea didn't exist back then. It just prohibits certain actions.

Oh fuck off Alex, the bible does promote hating gay people, it says that they should be stoned to death. How is that not promoting hate?

The problem is that the bible is so unclear and contradictory on many issues that it can be used to justify any viewpoint. And christianity is no more a religion of peace than I am the president of the USA.

Trance music doesn't promote life, so it is wrong.

Brownies do not promote life, so they are wrong as well.

etc.

An idiot, truly.

Being in school doesn't promote life, either. If people are in school a long time, they wait longer to have sex and marry, and they have fewer kids. Education is anti-life. Down with education!

or the classic "down with condomns"!!!

Good point! The following is my regimen to ensure maximum fertility for all:

1. Women, eat lots and lots of food and don't work out -- obese girls tend to have earlier onset of puberty. Also, too much exercise can lead to disruption of the menstrual cycle.

2. Men, eat more moderate amounts of food but with lots of protein and zinc -- obesity makes impotence more likely in men, but protein and zinc bring up testosterone and sperm count.

3. Everyone should live within a minute of a hospital to ensure minimal complications or deaths of women and children from pregnancy.

4. No recreational drugs for anyone, except Viagra and maybe some alcohol to spur on the sex drive.

5. No television, movies, or portable music, and no artificial lighting in residences after sundown. This will ensure that people get so bored that they screw one another's brains out.

6. No education beyond the minimal skills necessary to do menial jobs.

7. And of course all methods of birth control must be destroyed.

Anyone who opposes this brilliant plan is anti-life.

hey ok...i understand there are some man are acting a little girly but that's ok...homosexuality isn't ok for me because i see it as "Hey everyone's fucking a girl...i'm going to be the cool guy and i'm going to brake all moral and religious rules and i'm going to fuck a guy"

And it's not natural...and also...not my concern if someone would rather have a CROWN than a SWORD between his legs

why?
i think those methods do present a form of a personal choice...you want it? OK...you don't? birth control

Two topics that never fail to bring the drooling idiots out of the woodwork: homosexuality and abortion.
