Guv - Car Breakin's :(

Hey Everyone

So Playing at Guv last night/tonight I parked at the lot on lower jarvis by the golden griddle. been parking there for the past 5 years never a problem.

Parked and left the car at 9:10 to meet up at Scotland yard for a drink, got back at 10:10. Broken into. Front passanger window, Stole my DJ Mixer (Xone4D, $3700 was to use at the Guv that night) and my CD's. Took a mp3 FM Transmitter, but left the mp3 player. weird.

I had hid everything under a blanket, whoever did do it must have thought there wsa something so they smashed it.

Anyways. Yeah. now have to hassle to try to do the insurance, repair and so on. not to miss my Release party that I missed and catching up with all the TA's

So thats my word of warning.

ps. I even brough my laptop and the other DJ gear in to Scotland yard before just to be safe. And no, noone could have been watching and I have no idea who would have seen it.

pps. See anyone selling a Xone 4D in Toronto, let me know, I have my Serial Number, Id like to get it back obviously.

Barry check out the local pawn shops in the area. The downtown crackheads usually instantly try to sell that shit off. You might get lucky in getting your stuff back.

:*( a terrible loss indeed. Summer 05 my rental car was broken into in the parking lot across from the guv. The thief/s made away with an empty backpack, and two bags of produce from The Big Carrot. :S

Wow. That's terrible. I know that Xone 4D was your new baby. I can't believe that they took your CDs too.

Best to keep an eye on Ebay/Craigslist to see if anyone tries to sell it.

since we are on this topic...
a little warning to those that park at LCBO. be careful there. there have been many bad incidents that have happened in that parking lot... either cars getting towed or robbed. best place to park is still loblaws as it is the only lot that is well lit.

Wow, I am so sorry to hear about this, Barry. I can only imagine how upset you must be. I hope you get your stuff back!

I really hope you are able to track your stuff down. Like TranceGrooves said, I would contact the pawn shops in the area as well as Craigslist, Kijiji, eBay, and even FaceBook.

Man... I'm really sorry to hear about losing that stuff. Not only the mixer, but the CDs - which would take ages of time to rebuild.

Hopefully you recover the mixer. Thats not the most common piece of kit, so it would definitely raise some red flags if I just saw one floating around cheap.

THey told me to wait till normal business hours to file a police report :S

Ill be trying my best to watch the pawn shops, hard as im an hour out of town. Im sure the Police have something lined up with regards to this kinda crap. Ill also watch the other forums and sale options.

As for the lot, everything else seemed to be in shape. there was even a hell of alot of ppl around, mostly going to guv. :s

I feel your pain man, something very similar happened to me in that same area, except the guys who stole my shit decided it would be funny to scratch up the entire car and all the windows too...

Keep your chin up and do a round at the pawnshops, once Monday and another Tuesday. If you still in the gutter, msg me im buying a 4D for really cheap, and can get you the same deal.

unfortunately, the cops dont really do anything. i had a $3000+ car stereo system stolen from my car a few years ago. i filed a report and i asked him if i will get my stuff back but the cop said "there is not really much we can do. we dont go out there looking for your stuff back. you can only hope that it crosses our path." well, at least he was honest.
