still doesnt beat the old sprint sero plans. $30 for unlimited text/internet/mobile-to-mobile/night & weekends calls... this is why an iPhone or any phone is not worth leaving my sero plan

I've had phones across all networks and at least int he bay area the best coverage goes...

1. Sprint, BY FAR (and the other companies that use their network like Virgin Mobile). Few bad spots for me.
2. Verizon (has a bad wrap around here for some reason, but they were good when I had it. And I know who actually have had it didn't seem to have any issues with it...
3. AT&T/Cingular (lot of dropped calls with them it seems)
.
.
.
.
.
14. T-Mobile, cause it doesn't deserve 4th...hehe...

I liked T-Mobile's options the best when I had it, but getting a good signal from them can be such a pain in the ass around the bay area. Hell even inside Ruby with all the other carrier's I get full strength but then with T-Mobile I am lucky to get any reception inside..if I do, I have to find a magical spot and then don't move. A really pain in the ass. I cringed when my old work phone went from Sprint to T-Mobile since it sucked when I had it before and I was horrified to see that their coverage around here hasn't approved a damn bit between like 2001 and 2008.

Sprint uses Verizon's network too Only bad spot I've had with sprint has been when im underground/tunnel or in the middle of nowhere, e.g. Morgan Hill's hills!...

Sprint has its own network.

Doubt this will happen. Their parent company is DT AG. The largest telecom company in Europe and Germany. They have the capital to keep their US arm alive.

Also, I am contemplating going to this plan since it is only $3 more per month over what I have now.

So does Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. This doesn't matter for shit. They all roam on each other.

Here we go again.....

Even though T-mobile usa is owned by the same parent company, they went to great lengths not to tie the USA tmobile to the European holdings, for the very reason of bankruptcy protection. In terms of operations, it's is a completely separate company - if you try to transfer from any other territory to the US it won't happen...you're not dealing with the same company.

Also, I'm not sure about T-mobile having their own network. I think they established their network by piggy backing off existing infrastructure (like a lease arrangement), rather than actually owning the cell towers etc.

I would love this plan as I switched to Verizon recently and even though the call quality/reliability infinitely better I'm paying close to $90 per month for two lines, 700 minutes and 500 texts.

This tmobile offer would cut that in half, for more minutes......if only their reception worked when you leave LA......

T-Mobile USA is actually a company that was purchased called Voicestream. They already had a lot of their own infrastructure, but T-Mobile has leased spectrum, towers, etc in the past and more than likely currently still does. I know they have huge roaming agreements with AT&T.

Oh and yes, I know I can be an ass at times with the way I word my shit.

I must be one of the only people in the fucking country that has never had issues with T-Mobile's reception

Never said they didn't... but you can roam for free onto Verizon, Alltel, or US Cellular coverage.

I never have problems outside of a couple areas, but those areas even Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T have issues. They are just shit spots.

My sister, brother in-law, and a bunch of my friends in Sacramento same thing.

I had tmob for a year and it was the worst provider I've ever had in terms of coverage and quality of calls.

Even in perfect coverage areas, such as densely built up areas, call quality was poor most of the time, I got frequent dropped calls, echos, etc.

Then did a road trip around California and was out of coverage for probably 30-40% of the time. Drove to Arizona and for at least 150 miles neither me or my GF could get Tmob service.

It's great if you just make personal calls where it doesn't matter, but not in the styx or when business relies on it - it's just too amateur.
