COR Grills

With spring/summer around the corner - I am curious to find out what other COR Whores have for grilling up delectable goods. Are you a gas or charcoal griller? I personally love the taste of charcoal grilled food - so I bought this grill the other day. Nothing fancy - but it has tons of grilling space. It may only be 10F outside... but that isn't stopping me from grilling NY Strip tonight.

Not the first - This just a bigger one than the weber I've had since college.

I have a little 3 burner gas BBQ, which you can sort of see here.

I'm too lazy to go and take more pics

nice

you should use the vine tree branches for the coal to cook the kababs, that way you get the best taste out of it, something about the vine tree coal brings the magical taste out of pork kababs. also put some white onions and some salt and pepper on the meat. oh man it is so much win, mmmmm thinking about it waters my mouth

dude. mad respect for using a charcol grill. that gives you lush as fuck tasting food. problem is you go through a can of fluid to light the fucking thing and takes REAL man skills to grill properly. not an easy thing broe. good work.

i support a nice george foreman, just a gas.

pretty much throw everything i can on the barbie, any time any day (even in the winter) i cant stand the taste of anything else. it just tastes so much better grilled.

recommend trying various veggies grilled if you havnt, throw a little spice on that bitch and your off to the races.

I haven't used fluid in 5 years....

It is all about the chimney:

These work a treat. But if you don't have the cash just roll a tube out of chicken wire and fill it with coals with a couple of firestarters in the middle. once the firestarters have burned out and the coals in the centre have started a bit get a fan or hair drier and point it at the thing.. the whole lot ill catch within 5 mins.

I have a 4 burner gas barbie and a coal powered weber kettle barbie.

whiskers - love the Georgian shashliks.. surely everyone that lived in the former USSR loves those!

PS - the best sauce for these: - cook down some tomatoes (can be canned) until you form a pizza-sauce type consistency.. throw in plenty of finely minced fresh garlic and finely chopped coriander (aka cilantro) - salt and pepper to taste. Chill and serve.

You mean grape vine branches?

BTW, we soak the meat (pork or lamb) for a number of hours (min 2 max 24) in seltzer water + a combination of onions, peppers, mushrooms, salt/pepper - afterwards, we either cook the mix on the stove or put it separately on the grill. The cooking times are too different to put onions and meat at once - I used to do it but lately the onions would just burn.

We actually like to make these steaks and burgers from our local butcher. We just cooked up some burgers last night! The meat had cheese shreds in it, and the outside was covered in cracked black peppers. YUM We made extra so we could have one for lunch today too
