A solution to the death of AudioGalaxy
Im not familiar with all the p2p apps out there, so I wont do this myself, but someone needs to make a big poll here on the forums so we can all vote on a new p2p to move to. We should all decide that the winner of the poll is what all the TA's will move to together so we can keep a good library of elecronica going on the web.
Please keep in mind when/if you vote about things like spyware, what country its based in (so the RIAA cant go after them), ect.
This really pisses me off
I agree.I also like the idea of a TA exclusive program mentioned in another post.
THIS IS THE BEST IDEA OF THE CENTURY...
we need to do this shit...
swamper, make this work..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ahhh we need this...
If you want to move as a group, try Direct Connect. All you need is a hub that is run on a fairly fast computer, 24/7, with a max of like 500, 1000, or 1500 users, and if you dont want all the other crap in it,(like pr0n, movies, software etc...) make it user-password protected.

but who is going to host that ftp hehe
no, a DC Hub is the best idea.
I love the one running right now...it's private, and just great!!!! It's much friendlier than AG, and we can browse each other's collections.
If you don't see what you want in the TA Hub, DC has public hubs you can browse around.
no more AG so use kazaa everyone
since AG is gone i think the next best thing is to use KAZAA instead of other ideas i read like using DC and stuff.. of not AG i used kazaa before and i think theres ntohing wrong with it. do you guys like kazaa? if not why? i think its the next best thing since AG is gone. the only thing bad about it is that you cant find a user. so its kindve hard to start sharing your own set... but i think if we all bombarded kazaa with letters to have that option they can do it... after that it'll be just like napster.
Im never using kazaa again, well until i get adsl and a firewall. I dont want kazaa being able to use my cpu power for their own profit making schemes, or building up huge databases about my internet use.
Kazaa in the future will take the advantage of how many people use it, so i wont be
heres something that will help you all. Most people dont know but kazaa has "spyware" i suggest you all go to download.com and download "ad aware" im sure u will find lots of spyware and delete everything that u dont know, spyware like takes your bandwith and just gives u annoying ads, and basically just lags your computer. Now go to kazaalite.tk or kazaalite.com if those dont work just search for it in yahoo or something. First uninstall kazaa, remove spyware, then install kazaa lite then you are spyware free
sometimes it fucks up with AIM and can be gay but its better then kazaa with spyware, need help respond i wont be on till tommorow tho or IM me
I think Kazza is brutal. Not enough results come up in searches for tracks.
This sucks...I cant download any tunes...Kazaa her me come
If you are going to use Kazaa then goto http://www.kazaalite.com
and download their Kazaa Lite-client.
Its been modified so all the gator-spyware crap is removed, there is
also a modified audiogalaxy-client avaible there.
I dislike mp3 @ 128bit...
Hence I'll never use Kazaa for Trance songs...
Check my sig for a good alternate...

WinMX has as many, if not more tracks than Kazaa, plus downloading on Kazaa/Morpeass takes forever.

did they go out of court settlement to keep out of legal costs implicated?
Recording Industry Association of America, National Music Publishers Association Reach Settlement with Audiogalaxy.com
New York, NY, June 17, 2002 The recording industry, music publishers and songwriters announced today that they have reached an out-of-court settlement with Audiogalaxy.com, the Napster-like clone, which requires Audiogalaxy to stop the infringement of copyrighted works on their peer-to-peer network.
The agreement follows a lawsuit filed in late May accusing Audiogalaxy of facilitating and encouraging widespread copyright infringement a last resort step after repeated efforts to warn the firm of their liability were ignored or resulted in ineffective attempts to fix the problem. The suit was brought by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), on behalf of its member labels, and the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA), on behalf of the music publisher principals of its licensing affiliate, The Harry Fox Agency, Inc.
The settlement reached would allow Audiogalaxy to operate a "filter-in" system, which requires that for any music available, the songwriter, music publisher, and/or recording company must first consent to the use and sharing of the work. The other key provision of the agreement is for Audiogalaxy to pay the music publishers and recording industry a substantial sum based on Audiogalaxy's assets and interest in resolving this case quickly.
"We are pleased to settle this case quickly. This is a victory for everyone who cares about protecting the value of music," said Hilary Rosen, Chairman and CEO of the RIAA. "This should serve as a wake-up call to the other networks that facilitate unauthorized copying. The responsibility for implementing systems that allow for the authorized use of copyrighted works rests squarely on the shoulders of the peer-to-peer network."
"The message is clear there is no place on the Internet for services that exploit creators' work without fair compensation," added Edward P. Murphy, President and CEO, NMPA. "Such services hurt creators and hurt the legitimate Internet businesses that wish to comply with the law and compensate the creators. The swift resolution of this matter is thus a double victory that creators and legitimate Internet businesses should join in hailing." (more)
Audiogalaxy.com, based in Austin, Texas, was one of the more heavily trafficked file-sharing websites.
DAMMMMMMM IT
