Two words - "JAMES HOLDEN."

James Holden is a man of many talents: label boss, trend-setting producer, hugely in-demand monster remixer, and on top of all of this he finds himself at the head of the pack of that very modern breed of DJ, exploiting new technology to the full in order to bring his unique musical vision to life by brazenly uniting tracks from musics past and present, regardless of scene or genre.

After a much effort and convincing, INCOGNITO Fridays@King King is proud to announce that we are bringing back the elusive JAMES HOLDEN to LA for a RARE appearance...infact this is his ONLY West Coast performance for the next few years!

Dont miss the the BORDER COMMUNITY Head and an acknowledged DJ's DJ, who JOSH GABRIEL, former member of Gabriel & Dresden, describes as "A MODERN GENIUS", MARCUS SCHOSSOW calls him "MAGIC" while other DJ's tip him as one of the few great thinkers and innovators of electronic music, thanks to his cutting-edge approach to techno and electronica. In fact, SASHA exclaims, "JAMES HOLDEN IS the music".

Support that night will come from BDAY BOYS FRANCO BENITO(INCOGNITO) and AVENUE 66(SGP).

Haha, we know, Mr. Tour de Holden NY and LA! Actually, are you going to Canada too?

Here's a headline gig of JAMES HOLDEN last week in Portugal.

ugh i wanted too! more than nyc but friend doesnt have her passport

ps: his nyc set is going to be so short and who knows at what time with the rest of the line up. i can't say which will be better, at incognito or piknic electronik in montreal canada but his last montreal stop he did a 3 hour set at igloo festival followed by another 3+ hours at an after hours. also back to back border community headliners that weekend at piknic electronik, mistress barbara.

no idea. assuming its the same reason that the last time he played was at Vanguard 3 years ago. agent kinda mentioned that he really just doesn't like doing too many gigs.

we tried to do one in SF and SD too with him since he was here already, they said no - one gig in LA, one in NY and one in Canada is the max. it wasnt the price, nor the time or scheduling that was an issue. he just prefers it that way.

personally, i think he is just shy.

Yeah that's nuts.

Oh, well 2 out of 3 gigs shouldn't be too bad!

Here's an interview in IBIZA of the DJ who SASHA exclaims, "JAMES HOLDEN 'IS' the music"

Perfect combination of simplistic beats that never get tiring, organic sounds, textured movement.....pure eargasm by JAMES HOLDEN.

JAMES HOLDEN burns all boundaries and genres. Some sell out but JAMES HOLDEN tries to shepherd them back to the flock of good music, even if your name is Britney Spears.

Dealt with him a few times, so I can confirm the shyness. Probably why he prefers to do a quality gig like this at a smaller venue. Great guy though. And once you get that kid behind the decks he'll rock you're world. Everyone get ready a one of a kind experience!

Actually Freddy Be said its either 2002 or 2003 at Las Palmas venue of MNS.

I dont drink Tequila unless its bodyshots. Im more of a beer or scotch person.

But you are correct. Lost in all these is we are also celebrating the BDAY sets of FRANCO BENITO and one of our regular Korean-American DJ's, AVENUE 66 of Stompin Grounds.

That's what I'm saying, you need some tequila!!!

Yeah, it was definitely Las Palmas. Probably 2003 more like it.

very very excited about this show! I have not seen him since probably 2006 or 2007 when he played in Atlanta. James wanted a 3rd CDJ so I had the pleasure of letting him use one of mine and in return got him to sign my CDJ in a silver sharpy (cheesy, yes i know, but i'm a huge fan of his)! hope to see some of you all there.
