Official 2009-2010 NFL Season Thread

Brandon Stokley...omg.

And I knew Brees vs. Detroit was gonna be brutal, but oh MY.

go saints!

Posted by shaw on Sep-13-2009 20:56:

my boss screwed up the points for our work league, so I wound up with 67 points for brees this week on yahoo.

Raiders SUCK!

Go Bolts!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Bills really dropped the ball against the Pats, they should have won that game.

Yeah the Bills should have one, if so they would have broken their loosing streak against New England.

Now we are both tied with 12-0, us against the Raiders and New England against the Bills.

I hate the Patriots and knew that was going to happen, one way or another. It was painful to watch.

FUCK DA BEARS AND FUCK PITTSBURGH.

GO PATRIOTS, GO GIANTS, GO PHINS.

Pittsburgh, the misplaced city in the east coast. that shit hole belongs in the midwest

florida is home, baby.

Chicago looks damn good so far. So weird to see a QB avoid a sack while wearing a Bears uniform.

jay cutler was my QB on fantasy last month, but i used to switch him with eli manning.

i need to fix my fantasy, i've been away.

denver looks to be the front runner to "attempt" to overthrow san diego for the afc "worst" division. boy does this division suck with oakland, denver, and kansas city in the mix. can we switch one of these teams with an eastern team? that would be much better. san diego has won the division 4 out of the last 5 years. however, a 3-4 record in those playoff years ain't going to cut it. 2 1 and outs, 1 change in the conf championship, and 1 chance in the 2nd round? laughable. they currently don't look like they have a chance against the big dogs like baltimore, pittsburgh, indianapolis, and the pats.

the nfc "worst" division looks almost just as bad with the hapless rams and the enigmatic seahawks. cardinals are just as enigmatic, looking solid against the jaguars after looking lost last week, and the 49ers figure if they win 5 division games this year, they have a good chance to win the division.

Posted by Nerologic on Sep-21-2009 08:59:

Well we might have lost today to one of the big dogs; but we lost to ourselves, like always. I am not even going to begin on the game, because in the end it doesn't matter we lost over stupid simple mistakes.

The only thing I can say is that we put up a VERY good fight working with out key players. We played a top team and it was a strong game all the way through. Ravens didn't pull away as hard as you would think, they barely did.

We play the Steelers in 2 weeks, that game will be very telling on how strong we are. And soon after that we play Denver. We will take out Denver unless we get screwed over by the refs like last year...

Phins and Chargers this weekend!

My 2 favs.

Gotta root for the hometeam first and hope that they get a win in week three.

didn't air down here & haven't sprung for sunday ticket yet.

browns vs. raiders. no running plays allowed. i'd pay 50 bucks to watch that on ppv.

i caught the second half and the d looked pretty sketchy. our secondary is going to get lit up by any good qb. without urlacher on the field, it means that briggs and the new guy roach need to fill the gap. orlando pace looked bad. our division is tough this year with the vikings and packers having good teams.

Jets-Saints game this week will be terrific.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Oct-01-2009 01:30:

Jets-Saints is a game i will be definately watching. i like the saints chances against rookie sanchez. saints D has done well with unproven quarterbacks, and this week i don't see an exception to this. the only thing questionable about this team is the pass defense. run defense is very improved in my opinion.

but we got some serious big games in week 4, such as

ravens-pats
chargers-steelers
packers-vikings (for first place in the norris division)

ravens-pats is important, because if the ravens lose, and bengals beat the browns (most likely), we have ravens-bengals the next week after this for sole 1st place on top of the afc norris division. who would have thought that?

chargers-steelers are important, because steelers can't go 1-3 with the way the ravens and bengals are playing, and the chargers can't slip to 2-2 behind a questionable broncos team who is 3-0, and playing against a enigmatic cowboys team.

packers-vikings. favre. enough said.

I'm quite literally scared shitless for this game. If we have a let-down and the Packers beat us... even winning the Super Bowl can't erase that disappointment.

pace definitely looked awful in the preseason. sorry, definitely looked like an old tackle.

just looking at numbers, though, it looks like Cutler is who we thought he would be, and Forte is finally waking up. the WR corps seems to be shaping up really nicely. I'd actually take this over bernard berrian and a bunch of bums, like we had a few years back.

slaton's got two lucky plays and he's looking a little better, but this moats guy might really take his job. too many benson-esque 1-yard stumbles into the guards (and you know how painful those were to watch).

jamarcus russell is the worst qb I have ever seen. henry burris, cade mcnown, craig krenzel--step aside. 'jamunches ruffles' can't hit the broad side of a barn, or see where it is from two feet away.

Posted by winston on Oct-04-2009 20:04:

well played, chicago.

fuck cutler.

Is there a good quality website to see football games online? I kinda want to watch the phins too.

i don't think slaton is going anywhere, even though moats has looked real good the past couple of weeks. it's just those extra 15 pounds slaton put on during the offseason that really affected his style of game. last year, he was a slasher, and used mostly speed to outdo his defender. this year, he's using a bit of slash, but mostly muscle on his runs. something he needs to get used to.

as for russell, damn he sucks. the only reason why oakland is sticking with him, because they're stuck with him. all that guaranteed money they promised him. he missed so many passes to murphy and heyward-bey, it was embarrassing.

go saints! i am happy to see that when they're lacking on their dominant side(passing), they can pick it up on the opposite side of the field. thankfully, gregg williams (def coordinator) has brought 1 aspect to this defense the saints could never do the past couple of years: create turnovers. when a team wins the turnover battle, 85% of the time they will win.
