Any TOTA snowboarders here?

I haven't gone for about year or 2... I dont think I went last year but looking to get back into this winter (when it gets cold!!)

I missed the ski/snowboard show this year so i might have to wait to get some new gear when things go on sale.

Anyone get any new gear? I'm looking to get a pair of new bindings for Christmas or something... maybe even a new jacket. Anyone know of good binding? Burton Cartel's still any good?

If anyones down for a TOTA meet up at Blue Mt. that'd be cool. Sometimes I'll go by myself after work and ride till 10pm then head back.

Can't wait, last year I know its snowed a lot up there.

I used to Ride religiously every weekend or every other weekend since I was a teenager. BC, Alberta, Quebec, Vermont, Ive went everywhere. I havent been in the last two years. I just got a new board and bindings and gear the year I last rode. The board is a Burton twin 155, with special edition Cartel Bindings. I also have Sean White boots size 9.5

I paid about 1400 for this setup brand new with taxes in. The setup has about 8 rides on it. Im willing to let it go as a package to you or anyone looking for a quality board. Its not made in China, it was made in Austria, and is a limited edition. I think they only made 1000 of them or something like that.

Make an offer.

I also have a medium Volcum Jacket, and a large Sean White jacket from the same year. Both like new. Tones of money spent on this gear, willing to let it all go to anyone who wants to take it for a fair price. Its all in excellent to mint shape.

Can't wait to get out this year, Tremblant's opening on December 5th so I'm gonna try and be there...

P.S. My cartels are awesome, never broke, and look good still. Really comfortable binding. However, Watch for new cartels made in China, straps apparently break a lot.

I just bought these bindings...

Got a pretty good deal on them at the Ski/Snowboard show last month.

Also got these boots...

Haven't ridden in them yet, still waiting for the first snowfall before I get too excited. Hoping it snows by the weekend of Dec 18 to hit up Holiday Valley for a day. But will def be making a few trips up to Blue Mountain as well
Not to mention I'm hitting up Whistler during the Olympics in Feb

Once the snow hits I'll probably be going every weekend, and on some weeknights if the conditions are good enough. Not necessarily to Blue though.

I'm still pretty new at it, can't give any advice on gear, but I'm definitely shooting for at least a couple of good ski/snowboard meets this winter.

I cannot wait!!! the best thing about winter!

But before that I need to sell my board and buy a smaller one.
I am selling this K2 board and K2 bindings, which I have barely used, for $320 if anyone's interested:

Haven't been out for the last 2 years! can't wait to go again!

Yeah i snowboard every tuesday during the winter with my snowclub at school. We go over the boarder to NY and go to kissing bridge. It's a small place but their park is pretty killer for a small hill.

Every year I've been on TA, as much as we tried.... we never got around to firming up a TA snowboard day.

I hope this year is different. I have 3 boards... 140 something to a SIMS all-Mountain 160, fast as fuck. So I have one for different snow conditions, and been snowboarding sinse '93. We should definitely have a TOTA snowboard day this year and make it firm.

got my 5x7 for Blue Mountain and usually go sundays! this year I plan on getting some more gear. One thing is a must for night riding is clear lenses for my goggles. We should do a TOTA ski/snowboard meet there in Jan...

was a junior competetive skier.. over the last decade though i've went skiing on average twice a season, mostly because its tough to get a group of people out to go skiing, and i hate skiing alone

i'd be down for a TOTA outing if you organize one..

Absolutely, I tried my brothers the last time I went snowboarding and I wont go back at night until I buy a pair.

I'm up for a TA snowboard day, it's been awhile since I hits the hill. I'm actually playing Van at the end of Dec and was planning on hitting Whistler if I have time....

When the weather gets better (colder+more snow) I'll try to organize one... However, because some people work in the industry, weekends will be difficult.... so maybe thats the problem of organizing one.

Weekdays or weeknight might be better. January is also an option but I can see why organizing a big meet up is difficult.

I can't wait to go riding again, its been so long. And I would like to upgrade my equipment...

plus some pretty dope boots that i got suuuuper cheap because they were the last ones in stock and are size 13 but fit like a size 12.

Going to Mont Tremblant december 17-20....vermont in january...probably a bunch of time to blue mountain. Snowboarding is one of my deepest passions. Doesnt get any better then complete freedom...

Loving that board. Sick design. How does it ride?

I hope TOTA snowboarding day has a better turnout than the equally enthused TOTA skydiving day

I spent last winter living in BC at panorama mountain resort... I feel sick hearing frmo my old friends who stayed for another winter, I guess they have so much snow right now
Either way I am heading to trem, and to blue for a few days each this season.

Heh, that's almost identical to my gear. Only difference is colours (board top is red, not green, and bindings are the black and gold version).

By the way, does everybody here do their own sharpening and waxing etc.? I really don't have the time or patience and I'm looking for a decent place to do it in the Thornhill area (or at least north of Steeles).

Posted by VolumE_TO on Nov-26-2009 02:04:

I'm seriously overdue for sharpening and waxing as well

That is the absolute worst part about buying winter gear! Waiting to use it!

Last time I bought gear, I tried my whole outfit on in October and took pictures. I was bored lol
