FAO TA Nerds (Ben etc)
I'm looking for an all-in-one type security package. My laptop has mcafee on it but the 3 month trial is expiring soon and I'm wondering if there's anything else around which does a better job. 12 months of mcafee is roughly 40 (60 ish dollars) and i'm after something that works as
fireall
spyware blocker
antivirus
etc etc.
suggestions?
AVG free and not using the Internet like an idiot does just fine for me.
I have avg free on this. Firewall wise I don't really know what windows 7s is like. thanks for the input sir
I don't either, but really, I'm never terribly concerned with too much getting past my hardware firewall (router).

It's not hard to not get infected with Spyware, just use Adblock Plus on your firefox with an EasyList subscription (free, duh). AVG Free is the best anti-virus out there, it keeps you safe, and is mostly quiet and doesn't hog any RAM until it starts scanning
So wait, you're using McAfee AND AVG? Ouch, Is your computer slow?

I can't really help, as I haven't, and continue to not, use any sort of anti-virus or anti-spyware applications at all.
