Growing up and adulthood sucks.

Yeah, it's another one of those. But looking out the window and seeing kids play in the snow, remembering all the fun shit I used to do when it snowed, being all excited for it when I was a kid, grabbing my sleds as soon as first snowflake landed on the ground... all this, I miss.

Slightly older - risking your life and limb, loading up skiis, driving 2 hours in crazy slippery conditions to hit the slopes early at 6AM and ski until midnight... and then fucking like crazy rabbit with GF until 3AM - 4AM only to wake up few hours later and hit the slopes again... and then spend the last day of the weekend just laying in bed, fucking all day long, watching TV, smoking a blunt, etc.

Now, it's all about bills, 2nd job, maybe some NFL on Sunday with few friends over beer...

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO MY YOUTH, PEOPLE? WHAT THE FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Take more testosterone and purchase a toboggan.

Toboggan sounds fun... testosterone? what's that for?

Posted by Ted Promo on Dec-20-2009 18:50:

Yeah, don't forget to load up on mollies too.

Enhancing the overall jovial-ness of the tobogganing but making you lapse into a sustaining rage that will make you break things, most assuredly your heart and those of the ones that love you.

note to self: emotionally reflecting in c0r is akin to wanting a rejuvinating mineral bath and opting to go raw sewage diving instead.

The fungi would help eliminate or at least drastically reduce vaginal draft.

People should always stay as enthusiastic and imaginative.

Sounds like a good name for a gospel / christ rock band. Time to dust off your band name + album cover

I think I need more evidence in order to make a definite statement, but it's not unlikely.

Regardless, I understood the OP as inviting similar sentiments concerning the issue of growing up. Quoting "FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU" was my contribution!

Btw.: I did run outside at midnight yesterday engaging in a full on snowball world war that took place on campus. Fun times.

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Dec-20-2009 19:19:

Yeah, I don't know what else you're supposed to do when you're snowed in - it's not like anybody was working yesterday. I, for one, said screw adulthood and grabbed a tupperware lid to go sledding.

Same thoughts crossed my mind when the snow started comin' down yesterday. More specifically remembering a time when just seeing it snow was exciting.

Yesterday I saw it and thought, "I have to make a 10+ mile trip today on foot + subway and ALL of my sneakers and shoes have holes in them FML"

It's pretty much the general nature of children, being not corrupted and all, to be able to appreciate the full beauty/excitement/fun in just about everything. As adults I think most of us spend our whole lives trying to get that back by constantly seeking new sensations/trying to experience new things i.e. traveling around the world, skydiving, drugs, partying, and other hobbies including having and raising children of your own at some point.

It's important to try and accept the stage you're in in life though (i.e. not being a kid anymore), and focus on all of the awesome things about being an adult despite all the BS. If that doesn't work well lol... working with young children is pretty cathartic. Every time I've gotten a job working with kids I always start out thinking I'll hate it, but their simplicity going about life and non-cynical attitudes end up sticking with me for a time.
