was planning to go to this but line up is not appealing enough to me...

lol@Nic Chagall playing twice. once at main stage, and against as Cosmic Gate at High Contrast sgate. why is he in Main stage anyways?

and not enough variety in line up... the hard stage probably has more variety than rest of the line up. oh well

from everyone ive talked to..that have been 4,5,6 years now to TE, they say this is one of the best in years. personally i dont like the fact that above n beyond is the main headliner of the event, but everyone else im pumped as hell about. i think the rest is great

Posted by ChemEnhanced on Dec-21-2009 16:08:

I like the hard stage.

When is Scot Project coming back to TO.......I was pissed I missed him last time

it's good that ferry, pvd, armin and tiesto is not headlining it

would go to see Schulz. though looks like Patterson and Tyas doing a b2b set? if yes, zero interest in seeing that

only other DJs I'd go see is Andy Moor, Arnej and Mark Sherry but that's just a jaded tranceaddict in me talking lol

edit: i might just go for the hell of it, before i really get disconnected with trance...

there's always the Awakenings 3 night edition that weekend too btw (not for trance of course, but if you will be in the area at that time) lineup won't be out until Jan or Feb though.

My boyfriend and I have also talked about hitting up this party (TE) for our token one 'big trance party' while we are over here... we'll see.

I don't know fuck all about trance (at least not anymore...), but it seems like they did a good job of booking the DJ's who have the most cred in trance circles?

Nice! definitely making the trip this year after skipping last years....it's going to be worth it!

Posted by v-vaughn on Dec-21-2009 20:50:

Wow. I was really hoping I'd save up enough to go this year (esp since it's in April not Feb) but I don't think it's going to happen. What an insane lineup.

its really not as expensive as u think especially if ur going with someone...priceline packages are meant for 2 people..roundtrip flights and 4 nights in a 5 star hotel (with free mini bar) is currently $1100 a person and should dip another $150-200 come jan when winter deals hit (not guaranteed tho). all of us that are going havent booked anything yet except for buying our actual event ticket, since were waiting to see what kind of deals come along after the new year

Posted by gimmebeatz on Dec-21-2009 22:20:

personally i was hoping for a late feb/early march TE again..my package in '08 was only $800!! april starts getting near the peak season for amsterdam which is why its a little more expensive now unfortunately.

VERY good line up!! I really hope I can make it and go, making it my first Trance Energy ever!

It must be the responsible adult in me but that's a lot of money to spend to go to a party....10 years ago I probably would've felt differently.

WTG ARNEJ!!! Man, you are gonna shit your pants dude lol
This is a pretty sick line-up!!! Very impressed! I called it a few months back saying that they would need A&B and Markus Schulz this year if they even want to compare to the past couple of years, but adding Sander van Doorn back into the line-up is what really seals the deal for me though, however that doesn't mean I'm going again this year

Dude, it' snot just about the party, you can still spend like 4 days in the Dam for that price

Yeah, I know....but the main reason to go is for the party....and it is a lot of money to spend for that reason...like I said...ten years ago I probably wouldn't have thought twice about it but now there are too many other things I can find more important to spend my money on.

Posted by gimmebeatz on Dec-21-2009 23:37:

yea chris i agree with you. i cant say $1100 is to much to ask for 4 days in amsterdam, ontop of throwing in a 5 star hotel with free mini bar included. while of course the main point is trance energy, the experience in 08 alone was incredible. canal tours, anne frank house, just walking around and taking in the gorgeous city itself was worth the money alone, but to each their own.

plus the "BEFORE THE ENERGY" pre party with marcel woods, johan gielen (classics set) and leon bolier headlining, with the opportunity to buy the ticket to have dinner and drinks with all the DJs which is the one im gunna do. man well worth it.

this party sounds better than some of the stages lol

i miss johan gielen...

Posted by Angx on Dec-22-2009 00:17:

This line up is very weak. The only set that I would care to see is Tyas vs Patterson. Other than that meh...It would have sealed the deal for me if O'callaghan and Armin was there. I will not be going this year.

LOL, the funny thing is I did it for Awakenings once, but only had to pay for my flight while I was there. Preach was great and got me on the VIP list and my friend put me up at his place and actually paid for everything while I was there, but it still cost me almost 1000$ for 4.5 days in Holland.

Would I do this now?? Hell no!!
It is just craziness for me to even think of doing that now. You couldn't be more right... way too expensive if you aren't staying for at least a week!

see, for me I would need to be there longer. I wouldn't want to deal with the jet lag and such for only 4 days there.
