Any NAMM rumors? Who's going?

Seems this is (was) the only music forum on the web without a NAMM 2010 rumors thread, so go ahead and post anything interesting that you happen to have heard, have insider info on, etc.

Anybody here going? If so, we expect to real-time reports.

BTW, if you don't know anything, feel free to just make stuff up.

I heard that DSI may be announcing a Tetra with a keyboard attached and that Access will be releasing a new OS for the Virus. Oh wait, you told me both those things. :P

So that my post isn't completely useless, http://matrixsynth.blogspot.com/ always has lots of info about good stuff from NAMM.

I'm going. I'll be there every day.

The biggest announcement I'm looking forward to is the ABLETON-SERATO announcement.

http://www.ableton-serato.com

I also heard that Rob Papen is supposed to introduce new synths and that Lady Gaga is gonna perform together with Sasha at the Ableton booth.

Man sounds good, wish i could go, but as far as i know we have nothing like that in Australia.

Enjoy those of you who go!

Oh yeah, I forgot that I read somewhere that Spectrasonics has a pretty big announcement coming. Some people are speculating some upgrades/new libraries for Omnisphere, others mentioned maybe a new instrument (e.g., virtual guitar).

I expect round-the-clock reports, videos, etc. Oh yeah, and enough swag for all of us.

Nuendo 5.

I'm going, but I don't know what days...I'd be happy to tinker with stuff upon request :P

I thought NAMM was a traders-only expo, and not open to the public?

Posted by ReclusNdangrmnt on Jan-10-2010 07:16:

You are correct.

Posted by DjWoody on Jan-10-2010 07:27:

there were several invites floating around. I lucked out cuz i cop'd one from pioneer's twitter.

Posted by kitphillips on Jan-10-2010 10:36:

Papen will announce a new synth which is the same as his last synth, but has different presets.

Access will announce a new OS whose major feature will be to break your TI.

UAD will announce another new card which has 0.01% more power, but costs twice as much and only runs across the brand new type of interface called dickbus, thats right, a bus to your dick*.

NI will announce ten new plugins, which are exactly the same as the last ones, but use up more CPU, so they must be better.

Waldorf will announce the Stromberg, again.

Ableton will announce a new collaberation, with NASA, and you'll recieve a new version of ableton lite with every space flight you book.

Cubase will announce new copy protection, but it doesn't matter because no one wants to use it any more anyway.

Your mum will suck me off in the toilets.

Any questions?

*NOTE: Dick must be large enough for the minimal requirements. Otherwise you will have to make trance.

I heard that it's going to be Stromberg II.

dubfire resurrected robert moog by accident because he went too far underground, in return, robert moog thanked him by developing a synth that is an extended version of the moog voyager. here is the leaked picture:

also, as you can tell there is no power button. no this is not a mistake, in fact, this synth has been reported to be fully green. as dubfire stays underground, there is basically 0 electricity to run off of, so, it is completely clean-coal technology, you can purchase a solar panel to power it if you're not as underground as dubfire

Nice - more filters, more analog, more woodblock, more Jesus Christ, and built-in sidechaining!

Dammit - I just bought another Voyager RME without all these features!

lol i love the knobs and buttons way right there. woodblock, pling, plong, underground, noise1,2,3,4, deep-knobs etc. is there a VST?

Posted by floyd741 on Jan-10-2010 22:11:

I know someone who is going to NAMM but I won't be. I'll be seeing the Chicago Symphony Orchestra this Friday.

supposedly there is a vst version coming out, with one knob

Posted by Zak McKracken on Jan-10-2010 22:40:

i guess i could just route 5 instances of that in serial to get the same effect (the jesus christ)?

Yeah, check out the Access Virus booth as soon as you get there and speed dial me if there are any new products. Grab me a t-shirt while you're at it (XL/tall).

Also, I just noticed that John Bowen is going to be there - stop by and check out the Solaris (or whatever synths he's got).

You don't get a lot of choice in T-shirt sizes :P

Plus we shall see how it is in the swag department, given the economy...I'd like to continue my annual raffle-winning tradition!
