What is PVD's best album

Im looking to buy my first pvd album and I was wondering what you guys would recommend me to get.A friend of mine told me to get "Politics of Dancing" but I have heard from some people that album does not reflect his greatest work, and that his older albums are the best. please let me know.

Hello,

I would highly recommend:

Out There and Back. The album is really nice and one of the best Paul`s work. Also, If you want to get some old stuff, 'Seven Ways' is his 2nd best album. I really like Seven Ways, specially Forbidden Fruit and Words.

Hope this help.

Many Greetings,

f0x

Here's the best PvD album:
Out There And Back (DOUBLE CD)

2nd best: Politics Of Dancing (DOUBLE CD)
3rd best: (if you can find it) Muzic Magazine 60 Minute Mix
4th best: Vorsprung Dyk Technik: Remixes '92 - '98

Hands down:

Out there and back

This cd makes me cry its so good.

My personal favorite is :

Vorsprung Dyk Technik - it has some variety of tracks comparing to his other albums. As well as not all CDs are mixed (i know some ppl like it when it's mixed, i don't BUT this album has both so it makes for a good choice)

If you are going to buy Out There And Back get the 2xCD edition - it has extra tracks on second CD as well as video clip of 'Tell Me Why (The Riddle)'.

But really whatever you buy you can't go wrong

yeah i completely wore my copy out. Love from Above, Face to Face, Vega( i like this version better), Tell me Why, ANother Way, ravelling, Together We Will Conquer....just a really nice one to listen at home to.

You friends told you Politics of Dancing doesn't reflect his best, since it mostly isnt his work, it's his first official(?) mix cd. (Damn good nonetheless)
Out there and Back is solely his productions, and arguably the best.
If you end up getting either of them, post what you thought!

cheers
Ilina

One of the best albums I've ever heard! TOP2 album, this one and Magik 6 of Tiesto.

Politics of Dancing is also good but nothing compared to Out There And Back.

true that. I asked a guy what he likes in trance... who normally likes a lot of synthpop, euro, enigma type stuff, I like do as well. He recommended Paul Van Dyk highly, I bought it & loved it. He also recommended A Voyage into trance (Paul Okenfold) & DJ Ferry Corsten - Solar Serenades... A Voyage into trance then kicked off my interest in goatrance.

From now on, I'll pretty much buy anything that guy recommends in any genre. I look at his song lists that he says he likes, and I like pretty much everything.

In fact I'll play something he likes right now... melodic industrial dance (borderline uplifting, hehe.)

Suicide Commando - comatose delusion (hocico mix)

Forbidden Fruit rocks. Heaven is quite boring. Seven Ways (Star Ways) kick ass.

Many Greetings,
