Miami Music Conference at Space

Seems like space is getting their crap together!

Anyone know if there is a pass to go to and from PVD and Toolroom?

I went to Morillo last year and I felt PVD kill it downstairs. Do not remember if a combo pass was sold.

I am tempted to just buy both right now, before prices jump out of nowhere. It seems like if there were a combo pass for PVD and toolroom, that Space would list all the ticket options on Wantickets at the same time. IDK im stuck

iam waiting a few more days...if i dont hear nothing then iam just going to buy tickets for pvd before they jump threw the roof
if anything the night of the event after pvd's set i will see how much they are chargeing to get upstairs

They are tricky like that. They will release tickets at different times, much like they are doing with the FU Pass. I'm sure it increases revenue a little.
This is what happened last year:
The tickets came out just as they are now. Some people that bought the early batch of PVD tickets received the combo pass, even though it said nothing on wanttickets about combo. These people got wristbands upon entry, allowing them to freely move around the entire club. Then, eventually the price increased by ten or twenty bucks. As far as I know, the people who bought the PVD tickets at the new price only received entry to PVD, no wristband. None of these people were allowed to go up the stairs during the evening. Then, shortly after the price increase (or nearly the same time?), a ticket appeared on wanttickets clearly labeled as a "Combo Pass", which provided those ticket holders with said wirstband.
Really, I don't know what the deal is... maybe it's kind of like rewarding those who buy early, maybe it was a mistake, etc..
Basically, in my opinion it's a crapshoot. Personally, I am hoping for the same scenario as last year. I suppose if we tried to get in touch with somebody in the know (i.e. associated with the club and this night in particular), then maybe we could get to the bottom of it. Still, I would be skeptical of anybody really knowing what's up. And good luck convincing people that evening that you were told certain informaion. Also, as mentioned by AY STAR, you could maybe plan to just pay some kind of difference to reach the second level after PVD...........

First off, the terrace usually sells out in advance. I don't know what Toolroom and Stereo (and drumcode in loft) will bring in, but I can say with a fair amount of confidence that this year will be no different. It is a very popular destination on Friday night. So, being that they are playing with capacity issues throughout the evening, they become very strict about letting people upstairs. Add to that the fact that once PVD is finished, a few hundred other people have the same idea. All of a sudden nobody wants their evening to end, and the Terrace is just sooo damn enticing. So now you've got a ton of competition.
Now, I've seen a couple plans work in this situation.

#1: Be one of the first to head towards the terrace. This means leaving well before PVD is done. Stick yourself near the front of the clusterfu*ck, be patient, and wait till they slowly let people up.
#2: Get a few of your friends together (or alone, I suppose) gather a lot of money, and bribe the guys blocking the stairs. You may want to negotiate the price ahead of time with a bouncer or two.
#3: A combination of 1 and 2.

Like I said, I've seen these things work, but I've also seen them fail, simply because they could not let anybody up at all. I'm not sure what they are doing with the lineup with PVD. As of now, I'm assuming it's the same as usual; somebody like Edgar V until 1:30 or 2, then PVD until he is done, and that's it. If we are lucky enough that Space goes all out and has a few people lined up after PVD (how great would some other big names be!!), then the Terrace situation could be a little less of a problem. I highly doubt it, though, so I guess it is what it is.
I've made my decision to get the combo pass if it appears in the next few days. Otherwise, I will just get a ticket to PVD, and if it ends up not being a combo, I'll take the necessary steps from there. In any case, I will make it to the terrace at some point because there are just too many djs I want to see up there that night.

I expect you all to do the same so we can rock out all morning..

I remember going to PVD on Friday every conference for quite a few years (even when conference lasted through Tuesday, yes it may seem I'm old saying that lol) but I believe the year was 2005 and it was PVD and Ferry in HHS mainroom and Sander was on the terrace. Besides the fact that Space did the usual shit they do and oversell tickets for an event because they are money hungry motherf*ckers, the lovely fire marshal said it was over capacity and were not letting people in.

I was an @sshole and waited 4 freaking hours to wait to get in and when I finally got in there was another line to get into the mainroom! Luckily a bouncer liked my glasses (yes, I'm guilty of wearing ones that light up) and he let me and my friends in. After PVD finished Ferry came on and was to play from 5-9 and extended his set and hour more until 10 and told everyone to join him on the terrace to catch Sander's set. That was an awesome night, and I got to meet ferry for the first time

Anyways, space is capable of booking awesome shows like the one I just described. And they allowed people to move freely to both parties with no problems. I haven't gone to PVD on a Friday since then because other parties, like AM Only started popping up (2006 then came back in 2008) and cosmic gate at club love (2007), but I am sorry I missed him last year and wish I had a combo tix because the floor was vibrating underneath me when I was upstairs for Morillo and watching Choo Choo Romero's boring set :/

maybe a table is in order? I think I have to sell a kidney to cover a well label bottle lol

Well, if anybody has their PVD tix mailed to them, they could let us all know what they say.

yeah, just saw that. that's a good sign that it will be all access. It will still be a pain to get to the terrace the later it gets, but at least this is better than the multiple ticket format of last year.

iam not seeing anything on that about saying its a all access ticket, it just says pvd vandit 10 year anniversary party

iam not calling you a liar or nothing, chances are it probly is, but what you said about space and how they are shady chances are that this ticket is probly just for pvd
so should i buy it?

well if you look at the pvd tix it lists all the artists like knight, funkagenda, etc.

If you look at the terrace ticket only for mark knight and everyone, pvd is not listed.

You can buy the ticket and make sure to print everything and if they announce it later on that they it's only pvd you can talk to wantickets and they will help you out. They have always been good about stuff like that.

yes, email them. Ask them if you buy this ticket will it allow you to go both parties. They are really good in responding.

And I know like at the anjuna party at nocturnal in 2008 there were wantickets people at the door because we had an issue, never really checked other parties to see if they were present

contact Space, not Wantickets (as they have no idea - the club/promoters write the listings, not wantickets).

but as long as the ticket shows all of the rooms + artists, personally i wouldn't worry. the only real issue w/Space was a few years ago with overselling some events due to multi-party passes being sold. they have never misrepresented what parts of the club you could go into.

i would assume that ticket is NOT a combo pass. pretty sure space didnt release combo tickets at the beginning last year either and there is nothing there that says combo ticket. dont expect to be able to claim differently at the door either. they'll laugh in your face.

i have seen Space change their party descriptions as the days go by... but if i bought that ticket with those djs listed and didn't get full access i'd file a refund as it would be false advertising.

yep. because think about it logically. they have this ticket for sale, and a ticket for the terrace/loft. assume this ticket is for the combo, then where is the individual pvd ticket?

every time space sells combo tickets it says it in huge letters all over the place, combo combo combo. and no where does it say combo.

i mean by all means claim to the bouncers or the door people that they should give you an all access wristband, but they wont know or care what you're talking about. you really think the people working the door care whats on the wanttickets page? its only the list they have in front of them that matters. even if you pulled up the wanttickets page on your phone and showed them i doubt it would make a difference.

and on the terrace/loft ticket page in the description it says space ballroom paul van dyk. so going by your logic then this terrace/loft ticket should also give me access to pvd because it lists pvd in the description. so that would mean they are selling two combo tickets. doesnt make a whole lot of sense.

no, you're right, it doesn't make any sense, which is why it soo f'd up. I don't like waiting until the day of the event to know what parties I am actually allowed to attend. They seem to switch it up every year. They usually don't list all the artists on one page for wantickets, so I would follow the logic that it is all access. True, if it is not, they won't give a shit what you say at the door. It is interesting, though, that the price for both tickets has evened out. There is logic behind selling basically the same ticket on two different pages, because it keeps a number for each party for capacity purposes.... though we know Space doesn't normally care about over-selling. Still, it gives an idea of how many people will be in each section of the club. Even if that's the case, though, don't expect to just be able to head to the terrace after PVD, because it will still be a pain as mentioned on the previous page.

So, basically, I would advise anybody to get their ticket soon if no definitive combo shows up. Prices are sure to increase at some point. I got mine immediately, and will just bite the bullet if such a pass comes out.
Or, I suppose you could just wait and get the FU band when they show up, especially if you plan to hit Space and Surfcomber a few times.

yep you hit the nail on the head buddy. what do you do? either buy both tickets now for a lower price or hope a combo ticket comes on sale. you have no idea what the cheaper option is until its all said and done. and that sucks. this is just another reason i will be skipping space once again this year. i went last year and regretted it. pvd blew. pvd blew in november too. the only thing that maybe would get me there is a closing set by simon patterson. but yea fuckin right. i wont hold my breath for that.

Patterson would be amazing, but there's no way.
If I had to put money on it, I'd say it will be the same as always: PVD done, mainroom closed.
But, if I had to speculate about somebody after him, Alex M.O.R.P.H. would be my first guess, then maybe Ottaviani or Kuffdam.

there is NO WAY in hell that the PVD ticket is a combo ticket.
1 - it's the same price as just the terrace toolroom ticket
2 - it says right on it MAIN ROOM
3 - LP @ space aren't that stupid
4 - the same thing is going on for thursday night, where the site lists all the dj's with the boris ticket yet says MAIN ROOM, and they also have a viva TERRACE/loft ticket

you guys are seriously nuts if you think space is charging the same price for a combo ticket & for a just terrace ticket. LP screws everyone during wmc, this year is no different. wait for an official COMBO pass to come out, or buy tickets to both event to cover your ass

wasn't saying that at all. I was saying there is a very very very slight chance that all the tickets, both on for the terrace and the mainroom, include access to the entire club. I know that this most likely will not be the case... and, like I said, even if it was the case, it will not be easy for anyone to get from the mainroom up to the terrace during the evening. I am waiting for the combo ticket to come out, but if you read my post on the first page, strrange things have happened with these tickets.

best time to be there is 6am , no hazels and u feel like VIP entrnace !! No one is there until u get to " The terrace " And the best thing is u last until 3 or 4pm depends of the pills ( I mean the red bulls )

The only flaw in your logic is the terrace opens at 11pm and the djs will have been playing for 7 hours before you show up, you might miss who you want to see. Also if PVD gets out at 6 good luck getting on the terrace then.

I see your a fellow Chicagoin, we could use some Miami weather about now!

Anyway : 2 yrs Ago I went to the closing PArty @ Space My djs on the bill Say 2am and it dint show up until 7am witch was Cedric Gervais ..And I get in fine that was my personal experience I dunno maybe cuz was Monday 6am ? anyway I may hit ULTRA > 16 bit Lolitas and the go to space 4am
