Can good remixes save a worthless track ?
I've noticed that there are many choons that are really shite but have very good remixes. The track which came up to my mind in this moment is Active X - Let's Go. PVD's TPOD mix is a tune, but I was curious about the original mix, so I've downloaded it and checked it out. It sucked big time. Same with Iio - Rapture. I know it has been discussed a lot before, but for me it was like I've heard the track for the first time in PVD's Knebworth set and omg what a tune! It was the Deep Dish remix. Later I 've heard Riva and AvB rmxes and they were mint. But when I noticed the original mix in the radio it was a horrible crap. So now when I'm in my local club (they usually play dance there) and when the Dj plays it, I quit the dancefloor immediately. I hate the track. But the remixes are still cool.
So what do you think - can good remixes save a worthless track ?
The Clergy - The Oboe Song ever heard the original?
I say: YES!
PRIME EXAMPLE: 'Vengaboys - Kiss (Airscape Remix)'
Also 'Jam & Spoon - Be.Angeled (Paul van Dyk Remix)'
Syntone - Can't Believe It
Vengaboys - Kiss (Airscape Remix) is such an example
Mach 747 - Invading Privately SUcked until 29 palms did a storming remix of it
Kosheen - Hide U, the original sucked.....creamer and k saved it
Jason Downs - Cherokee, the original sucked.....creamer and k remix saved it
New Order - Crystal.....it sucked....lee coombs saved it.

matanka push rmx, prime example
i always hated fragma, until swamper put up this last year
fragma - say that you're here (hennes & cold rmx)
this is the only hennes & cold production that has ever impressed me!
and another one:
Barcode Brothers & DJ Alan S - It's A Fine Day (ATB Remix)
so ATB saved this one...doesn't surprise me, some of the ATB tunes always makes you dream
Cygnus X - Superstring
that song sucks! Rank-1 did some brilliant things with that

sven vath - mind games, i don't like the original, but the dg mix is cool.
same with the clergy bah, but green martian mix is cool.
of course they can
sample given:
dj jamx - keep it that way part2 [dj gert remix]
yeap but what about the remixes that fuck the track?
ex.
Misja Helsloot - First Second ( Ralphie B Remix) >>> poor rmx
one that comes to mind for me is DJ Dan - That Zipper Track .. Carl Cox definitely pulled that one out of the burning pile of crappiness, and breathed a lot of life into it.

(Actually, I think thi remix stunk quite a bit but, hey, each of us and his opinz....)
Sylver - Turn The Tide (CJ Stone Mix)
actually, all of Sylvers original songs suck ass
. But the CJ Stone mix of that song is great.
Bomfunk Mc's - Live Your Life (Push Transcendental Mix)
i haven't even heard the original, but it's bomfunk mc's so i'd assume its crap, the remix however is quite good.
Blik is joking.
I assume you are, if not them you show an amazing lack of appreciation of superb music, Cygnus X(and all the other Matthias Hoffmann aliases) were absolute quality, then and now.
