I think it's a really interesting undertaking - to compile such a list.

I read about this through ASOT450. The site will be accepting votes through mid-June and then will release the results.

my kneejerk reaction is that number one spot is either going to be cafe del mar, carte blanche or atrc.

yeah that wouldn't be at all surprising. and i'm sure there'll be some bias towards newer releases. a track like tuvan will end up high in the rankings

good point. maybe, to keep things from getting nasty in here, we ought to refrain from posting our own personal top 10s (let's face it- no matter what you pick...somebody will flame you) in favor of trying to come up with a list that will most accurately reflect the actual results.

To me it's not a bad list at all, certainly if First Rebirth is within the top 10 Where it belongs and were also Jam & Spoon - Follom Me should be, but that one is underrated probably ...

The Jen remix? Really? I would have figured you for the Quivver mix type of person, and not just because you used it on Decade.

Love the '91 mix of We Came In Peace. And all the other songs of course lol. Though I'm not super familiar with the Cosmic Baby track. Will need to give Stellar Supreme another listen one of these days.

I like almost every mix: Jens, Quivver, Gary 138, Yum Yum, the original... Jens is my pick because that acid + sweeping choral pads + Sasha 1990-fuckin-5 = love, but I'm really just voting for Sacred Cycles as a body of music.

It's the same with Forbidden Fruit. I love every version, including the East Of Eden radio edit, exempting any potential twat-mix from Durand or whoever I haven't heard about, and Food Of Love is just representing the whole Forbidden Fruit set.

I've fucked up there because it's not the "Album Mix", it's the Original, and the 12" version without the wonderful intro is the Club Mix. But it's not like the trance dullards of this world are going to let Cosmic Baby into their list.

I'm a big fan of the Medway remix as well as all those. It really is just a great fucking song. That's why with Stage One I just voted for it and let the mix go, since I love so many versions of it.

I'm still confused as to how PvD went from making tracks like the Forbidden Fruit set and the rest of Seven Ways to his shit now. Forbidden Fruit is an amazing song. If I had more room I would have put it and Words on it as well. Seven Ways was just such a great period for him, production wise.

Considering the trance dullards have no idea who Cosmic Baby is I'm going to guess not. As I said, I doubt a single artist or song I chose is going to be picked. I have a similar feeling about yours. Though possibly Chicane, for Saltwater.

I swear, I will never be able to make up a firm top 10 ever in my life.

I think Underworld will get Born Slippy in, even though it isn't trance, Flaming June can surely be one of the top one thousand trance records ever, Schiller and Tilt could definitely make it somewhere, and on your list Madagascar is nailed-on thanks to FC's remix, and Heaven Scent and Stage One will very likely feature.

There were lots of tracks I could have put in there that I didn't. Most of the ones I opted for are pretty well known and have some sentimental value to me. I would like to have found room for some Blue Planet Corp, Vibrasphere, 12 Moons, Tranceparents, LSG, MWNN, Solar Fields, Li Kwan, Breeder etc.
