Eating Meat

How do you REALLY feel about?

I hate fat meat.
I love animals.
Sometimes when I eat meat I think of rotting corpses...

What's your take?

Did Adam and Eve eat meat?

Posted by Lews on Jul-25-2010 01:03:

Just wow.

I only eat live animals

I had ribs last night, and I had pastrami for lunch. It tastes good and the only reason for those animals to exist now is for us to eat them.

i believe that the human race has evolved in the fashion that it has so as to support the consumption of meat.
anybody who tells you otherwise, who tells you that we were born to be vegetarians, is fucking stupid.

i will eat meat until the day i die- no matter how upsetting certain things are to some people. because you know what- foie gras is delicious. i'm tired of seeing it on fewer menus.

and fat meat, such as kobe is pretty damn good. i love the fatty stuff haha.
but at the same time we're seeing words like 'kobe' thrown around haphazardly. if you're eating a kobe burger, for instance, there's a very good chance that it is in no way shape or form made of kobe beef. anyway, it just wouldn't make sense to do so. kobe burgers make no sense ha

Posted by infiniteJEST on Jul-25-2010 01:26:

I've been a vegetarian my entire life, from birth, and I find it completely obnoxious when bandwagon vegetarians jump on their high horse and try to guilt the world into not eating meat...
I defend my right to not eat meat just the same as you guys would defend your right to eat meat...and at this point in my 28 years on earth, it'd be impossible and weird for me to become a meat-eater, the same its impossible for you to give up eating meat.
Preachy ******s can jump off...

With that said, i don't miss out on anything (except maybe sushi) and I've discovered so much freakin awesome food from global cuisines a lot of my meat-eating friends are too scared to try...
So basically, point is, who cares what someone else eats...thats why theres over 10,000 different types of cuisine on this planet...try what you want, eat what you like, and have enough respect to recognize its an individual choice.

Lulz.

Really, I don't get the question, though. People act like it's some crazy ass thing that is insane, when really it's just not eating meat.. I love salads, vegan cheese pizzas, tofu, foods from soy, fruits, vegetables, pasta dishes.. All sorts of things.

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on Jul-25-2010 01:46:

i also love a lot of vegan food options. but i would never give up eating meat. i could probably go say 1 or 2 weeks without meat but that's it.

That's what I thought at first. I ate steak every week and pepperoni pizza like every day.

Then one day I just stopped eating meat and haven't eaten it since

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on Jul-25-2010 01:51:

i dated a vegetarian for a couple months earlier this year. i found myself not eating meat for weeks at a time - even though she encouraged me not to pick vegetarian options at dinner just because of her. but anyway, every time i'd return to meat i'd realize something had been missing from my life.

exactly..i eat indian food often, hindu's hold cows sacred and live basically a vegetarian lifestyle, so the food is a reflection of that..its not odd to them to not eat meat. its just the food they live off of that i find tasty.
even though being a vegetarian sounds like this crazy restriction to people, its really not...meat is just a source of protein...i get the craving for protein just the same as anyone else, i just use soy-meat alternative to satisfy the craving. regardless on a biological level, its just my body needing protein to run the machine.
I couldn't be a vegan either...I find that to be restricting...which is funny b/c it proves i totally contradict my previous statement about not being restricted. but I'll eat vegan foods...its just food. tasty, yummy, satisfying food.

The only thing keeping me back from being Vegan is that I have the hardest time in the world making lunches and it's easy to just get some cheese pizza or microwavable soy chicken nuggets.

As soon as I'm a better cook I'm sure I'll make the transition. Just a matter of time
