2002-2003 NFL Season

Another season of the NFL is just about to get started...with the new re-alignment in the conferences and the addition of an expansion team, new coaches and new players, expectations are running high as ever this season...who are your picks(players and teams) to fly high or crash and burn?

Posted by Cafster on Jul-26-2002 16:37:

i going for the Pats again. ive always been a patriots fan as long as ive watched football. last year with Brady as QB they got the job done and the only people to give them credit for a good year were the devote fans. hell, look at the console games and stuff like that. the Rams and other teams are all over the covers and the commercials but guess what...they fucken lost last year. you dont see a Pats player anywhere and they were the winning team.

anyway i think they still have it in them. maybe not another superbowl but they will make the finals.

Posted by Nadi on Jul-27-2002 07:24:

The rams are still a fine choice to do well. Any tean that has 2 of the best offensive players in the game plus a top 5 rated defense is sure to do well. I think san fransisco can do well this year too

hehehehehe. Don't know why they call it the National Football League, kicking in general play is a last resort. I mean they don't even play on real grass!

the reason why it was called football from early on was that kicking was a big part of the game .... Punting and kicking ...which they still do now ..but there was another form of kicking which is still valid to do now but hasnt beend one in so long because no one can do it anymore..... its called a Drop Kick.... which i believe anyone behind the line of scrimage and drop the ball and let it bouce and kick it in the goal post if it goes in its 2 points......similar to a rugby kick but it has to kit the ground first and has to bounce and then kick it......but its a pretty much usesless thing to do knowing that are kickers are better then they were 50 years ago...but thats why it was called american football because the foot was used a lot in the game..... the game is involved then when it was created

and for saying they dont play in grass ...more fields are on grass then turff....most of the domes are turff but thats it ..so your wrong about that assumtion about they dont even play in grass...and if they didnt turff isnt as soft as grass so when u fall it hurts way more then grass and turff and cause ton of more injureys usually ankle and leg cuz of the gripp the foot gets on turff..

and for the person who said it has to be the shittiest sport ever invented ..well if you learned how to play and especially live in this country u would love it more then u think u would...football is US #1 sport ...over baseball, and basketball..... there not many people who dont like football that are american...and the Superbowl is one of the highest viewed sporting event in the world.... and if you think that its mostly americans viewing it ..thats means almost all americans watch the superbowl ..... its a great sport it truely is ... the european leagues are haveing more sucess with fans now ...and they are seeing who this sport is such a great sport to watcha nd play ....

your my man!!!! the pats will rock again this year...the only difference is that their not as underdogs as they were last year..

and for those who said football is the worst sport, well its because you never played it...it may be the hardest sport, but its the best to play....

There is NO WAY the Pats are going to even come close this year. The only reason they even made it to the Super Bowl last year was because of that play where Brady fumbled off a rush by Woodson and the call was overturned. Way too many bounces had to go their way last year. And i dont think Brady (although i do like the guy) has it in him to put in that kind of consistancy for a full year.
I do see the Dolphins making a big move in the AFC with Ricky Williams FINALLY giving the Phins a dominant running game. Fiedler should put up excellent numbers this year with his rejuvinated rush attack, and Chris Chambers will make everyone forget about Randy Moss.
Super Bowl Prediction............Miami 26 St. Louis 24

I live in Los Angeles and still root for the Raiders. They have a shot, but it would have been better if they had kept their head coach.

I think we'll see the Rams vs Steelers in the Super Bowl this year.

Come on guys. If you don't like the NFL, then why bother entering this thread. I'm an all around sports person, enjoying footall and the other football. Maybe it's because I'm European-American. I like almost all the sports out there. I even watch baseball. Laugh all you want guys, but I live for sports and trance. Peace.//

I also like the raiders, They have a bunch of future hall of famers on the team. Theres only 2 problems with them in my mind. First there really old. Rice is almost 40, Tim Brown is 38 or so, and Rich Gannon is in the late 30's, so I wonder if they can all stay healthy for a full season. The other problem is they lost gruden, which isn't super horrible, but he's better then there current coach

yea rams vs. steelers is a good choice. might be the most obvious one. I'm a Giants fan. not gonna be a good year. lost alot of key players last year and picked up nobody. got a good TE in the draft though. i know they wont be good, but i'll be rooting hardcore as always. and sebby i'm wit ya on the last comment, i live for sports and trance also, and of course women

Philadelphia all the way!!.... theres no doubt in my mind that philly will make it to the playoffs and hopefully the superbowl. They're a good team and have been my team since day one. Im the biggest eagles fan that there is, considering I live in denver. The broncos are looking good this year too, so I wouldnt be surprised if they went somewhere. But I just have one comment to say. Last year when philadelphia played st. louis it was a hell of a game. And in my opinion and in the minds of many others Ive talked to, if philadelphia would've beat st. louis then philadelphia would have surely beat new england with no problem at all. Philly had st. louis in the first half and much of the second half too. It was just the 4th qtr. that messed em' up. Let me know what you think of that if you can remember. But I do give props to new england although I really hate them! They did win the superbowl after all. Although I think st. louis should have beat them.... lataz

P.S. Philadelphia is gonna win this year

Posted by sebby on Aug-14-2002 07:56:

I can't believe I forgot to say women. Yeah!!! So it's sports, trance, and women. Not necessarily in that order. It would be so hard to rank them. Ahhhhhh!!!!!!

The Bucs are going to dominate!!! This year we got the offence to go with the defence!! BRING IT!!!

As far as flops go, I think the Texans will got max 4 wins but will still do better than the Panthers, Bengals and prolly the Lions again. As for a good team flopping, watch the Dolphins struggle.

Surprises will be the Redskins (ALL GATORS, BABY) and the Colts will have a much better year than the last. Not a surprise but the Broncos are going to rock this year too. They got 2 major receivers, two great backs and an always-improving defence.

Superbowl Prediction: Bucs over Broncos

And I HATE the Rams!!

I just don't seem to understand some people...

why do they think that football and soccer are mutually exclusive of each other???

meaning that, why do so many people enjoy one while also disliking the other one ???

Posted by Thierry on Aug-28-2002 05:41:

Just because you don't know how a sport works, doesn't mean it's bad. If that's the case, cricket can go to hell.

How can you say Miami is going to struggle????
For the first time EVER they have a superstar running back!!!
Jay Fiedler will turn it on this year with the added support in the backfield, and Chris Chambers is going to BLOW SHIT UP!!!! And for Tampa having a good year......very likely, but they better do it this year with the amount of draft picks they gave up for Gruden. I agree with Washington and Indy doing very well this year. Spurrier has the offence going nuts in the preseason averaging around 40 points a game!?!?!? What the hell??? And with the division modification, Indy should flourish in the weakest division in the league (afc south). They both should have 10 win seasons.
