Both dissapointing sets to be honest....!
The only tune I wanna know is the one that starts at 10:00 minutes in Desyn's set...!
Got to agree I'm afraid, likewise the only track to do anything for me was that same track at 10mins into desyn set.
Although I don't like to believe it, I think desyn has stopped standing out from the others, hopefully he will get his mojo back soon.
Saying that I believe his stuff this year has been a massive improvement on that of 2008/09.
Also the one thing we do have to remember is that this set is a live recorded set and if the crowd was reacting well to that kind of stuff then he's bound to stick with it. He's not thinking much about whether it will sound good through computer speakers.
its live set, mi sure that if u were there u will be satisfied ...
Thanks!
Shonky - Cluborama
first 10 min from Dana

@ 3min
gotta be Toomy Disco !!!
agreed, disappointing set from desyn. you would of thought he would of caught the melodic nu-disco bug as oppose to the generic tech-house stuff, but guess not.
I was at the gig, and I had a great time, thought Desyns set was great too. He started out with 30 mins of downtempo and continued with that part, pianos, bootlegs. Glad he isnt playing the nudisco mince everyone are playing atm, sick of it.
Check some clips if it works, some on youtube too:

Maestro: Just listen to any mix labeled as nu disco by the dj who made it, and you got it

Track @ 37 minutes in Desyn's set is pretty bonkers. Anyone?

It is disappointing that such a well-respected dj as Erik would make such a fatuous comment about a perfectly valid branch of house music.. I suppose he is just trying to give Desyn props since he will be working with him, and i honestly look forward to hearing the results, but really he should know better than to talk such nonsense to educated dance fans.
There are djs such as Anthony Mansfield who do a damned good job of playing some fantastic contemporary disco, keeping it deep, groovy and organic with some timeless old-school elements.. I honestly think Desyn needs to give us some more interesting sets to listen to if he is to maintain his position at the top of the game.. He is no doubt one of the most talented djs around but seems to be constraining himself a bit much and not delivering the emotive, left-field gems that we used to all worship him for!
? Not sure he said anything wrong. Just that he was glad someone wasn't playing a specific genre of house and that he was personally not a fan of that specific genre.
