What is the FIRST song that you have EVER heard?

Just wondering ... for many of us there were songs in our youth that have played an important role in shaping music tastes, years to come.

What is the first song that you can remember you heard that blew your mind and set you on the path to become the music addict you are?

For me it was this legendary track, as a 5-year-old in late 80s I was in awe when my parents played this track on their cassette jukebox player:

I think it was one of Sandra's or Modern Talking songs

After that I heard Technotronic & I liked it . I was like 6 7 years old.

Robert Miles - Children possibly, but when i started clubbing i suposse dj played older stuff but i didn't know it was trance, and well my first song... Beethoven's 5th or 9th simphony? I bornt when bombs fell in middle east, that was music or noise? or the first commercial i listened while i was in the cradle? Nah this is stupid.

first track ever??? well i didnt consider any of the 80s stuff music so it must have been the prodigy - hyperpeed or acer - trip to the moon. or maybe it was cappella - everybody. it sure was some rave/hardcore/dance stuff, and it made my 8 year old life suddenly worth living.

Knowing my parents musical tastes, no doubt some live Grateful Dead or other 60s-70s psychedelic. Ironic, 'cause I can't really stand the stuff now.

No idea what the first some I heard was, the first songs I remember liking were RHCP - Roller Coaster of Love and Coolio - I'll C U When U Get There. Oxygen 3 started me off on liking electronic music

how did they react when you transitioned to trance?

I wish I too had an amazing memory like that so I could remember.

And to make it even better I wish it was a classic trance song or something else as unbelievable. Hahaha.

There wasn't really a "transition to trance" for me, as I always listened to all sorts of electronic music, simply adding to the pile as I discovered new things.

Seeing how excited and passionate I was about electronic music, I think my parents wanted to understand what this "electronic music" was that meant so much for "the kids nowadays". My parents have been devouring books and all other forms of printed media all their lives, so they actually made an effort to learn a little about it. My dad is German, so he naturally took an interest in the competition between Frankfurt and Berlin and how the status of "the capital of techno" gradually shifted from the latter to the former. There were also many occasions where my mom would pass by my room and actually stop to say that what I had playing sounded very nice.
