Black Swan

Fuck YA

hot lesbo scene. Twisted sick and an awesome depiction of psychosis in art. Loved it.

great movie.

i wrote this on another forum: (sorry its out of contex)

quote:

i really enjoyed the movie

i have to echo others who said the film is meant to be operatic. really, i saw the film as a pop culture celebration of the power of the fine art of ballet. It is a kind of hybrid film that I don't think should be compared to hitchcock. To me it's a primer to ballet and opera, somewhere in between film and that. Someone in this thread said that this movie is a great introduction to ballet for people who otherwise might not have the stomach for it - totally agreed.

The film succeeds in its communication of motion, and the score is fantastic, and I think it does what it set out to do with flying colors - ie, give a first person perspective of swan lake which successfully hybridizes both the art and spectacle of ballet with the art and spectacle of film.

bravo!

and totally agreed about natalie portman being the perfect 'debutante' for this role.

I was reading an article in the National Post, stating that there was some rejection of this film by people in the ballet world. But Aronofsky had said that Swan Lake itself (among other ballets) is actually very dark and Gothic - like the film. Which yeah, I think is awesome. I watched it twice in the same day.

I've only come across one other person besides myself who didn't really care for it, so I think that's saying something. Natalie Portman was absolutely amazing though. I don't know who her competition is for the Oscar, but they have their work cut out for them.

She was just bursting at the seams the entire movie. I wanted to scream for her so many times. Perfection.

Probaby the best movie of 2010.

Aronofsky is special. This is a strong film.

Without a doubt, the film has Natalie Portman's tour-de-force performance.

The Piano Teacher meets The Devil's Advocate imo.

ah I went to see the new daft punk music video instead. But, to be fair, Dark Lake wasn't in 3d. I needs my 3d. Does she at least show her cellulite ridden ass like she did in Darjeeling? She's gorgeous but I was surprised by the bumps on her ass and upper thigh in that movie, I hope they CG'ed that imperfection in at Wes Anderson's whim.

was oooooooookaaaaaayyyyy: Portman was awesome, didn't think the film itself was that amazing though

Fyi, most women have some cellulite (unfortunately, women's connective tissue is more conducive to the appearance of lumpy skin). So you'd probably be surprised by a lot of chicks. Way to be brainwashed by the media's representation of the ideal woman, lol. The only people who look "perfect" are the ones who obsess over what they eat and work out 10 + hours a week. Or the ones who are airbrushed.

Anyway, if she had cellulite in that movie, she sure as hell doesn't in Black Swan. Her and Kunis trained for 6 months, working out 4-5 hours a day to physically prepare for the role. I suppose you think that's "normal" and that all women should do the same? Get real bro.

Posted by Meat187 on Jan-03-2011 18:32:

Haha, Jenny is fat and has cellulite! *points*

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jan-03-2011 18:35:

Such a predictable response.

Only the truth is easy to predict.

ballet is considered to be one of the highest arts, and film is considered to be the most profane/acessible/popular ... so go figure

whether or not ballet people like it or agree with what aronofsky was obviously trying to do, i think it is successful. and i bet ballet attendance will be up because of it.

guys are going to be like, damn i get to go see some crazy ass lesbians in mini skirts spread their legs AND make my gf think I care about her and the arts.

Sunday my GF really wants to see this movie and I never heard of it. We go watch it and when it finished I was asked so which was your favorite part? The self sex part with mom in the room or the full out lesbo scene

Overall it was decent(8/10) see even with the Ocean 13 french loser guy in it.
