not at all my favorite offering from omar s, but i thought it was something you fellows might enjoy.

so here's your trance, now dance.

When I saw this at the record store I was so hoping it was some tongue in cheek title, thank god it was :P

Adam, does this upset you at all? I kind of feel like it would, but you're a hard guy to get a handle on.

The Dirtbombs - Sharevari (Omar S Remix) by ScionAV

I really liked his Fabric mix. Plenty of his tracks there that puts me more into "trance" than this one.

well i of course love the original share vari, but i also quite like the dirtbombs cover of it.

i like the remix - nice and ruff. i would never play it, but if omar s played it, or theo parrish (which i could easily see) i'd dance my ass off

i think its pretty easy to get a handle on me - i'm some kind of musical atavist with a penchant for raw, emotional drama, i love many-layered syncopated rhythms and rough, spacious mixing.

i think the next step for omar s is to remix enya

this track is like 'sail away' with a drum machine over it

Oh ok lol. I figured you'd be up in arms about anyone covering the track at all. Maybe because The Dirtbombs are from Detroit you don't mind? What if The Dirtbombs were from LA?

i only like a few of the tracks on that album, share vari cover, and knights of the jaguar. maybe strings of live cover. otherwise it's down there next to the german house oompa band i made a thread about earlier

i think it's cool that they are from detroit. i didn't know the dirtbombs before i heard it. what i like about it in general is how it revives a connection with the garage/punk scene that once existed earlier in electronic music.

all i can say is that share vari cover would slay a crowd where i live in bushwick, regardless of race or musical background, and i like music that brings people together that way.

why would you play this or not play this to a crowd? and what type of crowd? are people supposed to get the joke and have a hipster giggle? what is the joke, btw, is it based on synths being so dated and out of style?
