Famous relatives/ Famous people you've met?
Anyone here related to someone famous, dead or alive?
I'm related to Dr Edward Jenner who created the smallpox vaccine and the very first vaccination.

| Edward Anthony Jenner (17 May 1749 26 January 1823) was an English scientist who studied his natural surroundings in Berkeley, Gloucestershire. Jenner is widely credited as the pioneer of smallpox vaccine, and is sometimes referred to as the "Father of Immunology"; his works have been said to have "saved more lives than the work of any other man" |

Tony Bennett, distant cousin
My cousins are cousins through their dads side of the family with Joe Jackson (Musician) although I don't think I've ever met him. Aside from that, nothing that I'm aware of.
Most recently I sat next to Roger Goodell on a plane to Florida. I met Simon Patterson after he spun in Rochester a few months ago. Derek Lowe is the nephew of a family friend, but that doesn't really count
One day my children will say their dad is famous. Does that count?
srsly tho, not that I know of... My Great grandfather was knighted (in the Netherlands) after fighting in the resistance and helping smuggle out jews and others during WW2- he got caught and was in a POW camp for a bit near the end of the war too...
That's not really 'fame', but it bloody well should be imo
Died only a few years ago (Edit: Thinking about it, it must be almost about 6 years ago now
), he was about 97 I think- one of the nicest guys I've ever met too, definitely couldn't have seen the guy as a resistance fighter.
Johnny Depp is a distant cousin of mine. Never actually met him, I heard he hates his family in Kentucky

I once lost a potato sack race to Stephen Hawking.
One of my relatives owned this ship that is now just a wreck and minor tourist attraction on the coast of Oregon.
Most famous person I ever "met" briefly is the infamous George Bush the Younger, long before he became president.

I once rode in an elevator with George Clinton and the members of Kraftwerk.

people keep track of this?
I don't think I'm related to anyone famous, but as for famous people I've met, most recently I bumped into Holly Valance at Heathrow Terminal 5, just last week actually.
I am going to be the most famous person in my family. Some day!

I met Cindy Crawford and Nick Nolte in unexpected strange situations while in Malibu in 1999.
Met Derek Jeter and a few other Yankees players in Tampa a few times... met Big Pussy from the Sopranos in Boston once too.
Conversation in 30 years:
"You know, my lovely grandchildren, I knew that Kevin Martin fellow. You know, the one that killed our President at the time, Mr. Barack Obama."
"Really, Grandpa?!"
"Really, kids. REALLY."

Phil Donahue- Uncle.
