It's a lot easier for me to enjoy watching a baseball game of teams I don't care about than a basketball game of teams I don't care about because I appreciate all the little things that go into each play (especially at a very high level like the majors). I'd have to disagree about playing though. I guess it's harder to organize a game between 18 people instead of 10 or 6, but there's nothing like playing baseball imo.

You're right though, most MLB players are recruited out of high school or leave college after a year or two.

On that note:

Best rivalry in all of sports. Except for this year because the Yankees suck. Go Sox

discuss.

India vs Pakistan in cricket. Nobody here including myself cares about cricket, but if you want to play the numbers game there are about 1.3 billion people that do.

You all know nothing about a rivalry.

Everyone knows the greatest rivalry in sports is shirts vs skins

It's a lot more interesting than a bunch of fags in short shorts running around chasing other fags in short shorts with a ball.

I have absolutely no idea who those two people are.

That's just the little midget cousin of the real college basketball rivalry:

I know yours is big in Kentucky, but Duke vs. UNC is an "among all sports" type of rivalry... but you already knew that, basketball man.

Posted by ziptnf on Jun-14-2011 14:06:

Duke v UNC is basically rich people vs other rich people. Bigger rivalry, but means practically nothing to me.

Posted by srussell0018 on Jun-14-2011 14:13:

I've heard ND vs. USC is pretty big, even though they don't play often.

Also University of Rochester vs. St. John Fischer College

Posted by Zyklon_Jay on Jun-14-2011 14:15:

Habs vs Bruins
Kobe Bryant vs White Women
Bulls vs Pistons
Hawks vs Wings
Celtics vs Lakers
Dallas Cowboys vs State Troopers

Baseball is not a sport. If fat fucks can be "stars", its at the same level as curling. I consider baseball more of a sleep aid than anything else.

You've never played baseball

sure its a great rivarly but i'd like to see it get back to the equvilant of the AVs/ Wings rivarly was from mid 90s-2002 with those type bloodbaths

and speaking on Rivarlys...lets not forget...

Bears/Packers

I don't care for either team as well... although I have a ton of respect for coach K. In your case, I do like how Pitino went to Louisville to add some fire to that situation.

Posted by srussell0018 on Jun-14-2011 14:37:

Those are mostly local rivalries though. There's millions of Yankee and Red Sox fans all over the country. That's why in a lot of stadiums around the country, when either one of those teams come, their fans outnumbers the home team fans by quite a large margin. It's by far the biggest rivalry on this side of the world at the very least.

of course i have. i still do a few times in summer, but really its just an excuse to get drunk...we never finish a game. I'd much rather hit the batting cages. As kids we played almost every day in summer.

i agree, but the avs are horrible. Detroit and Chicago are skill teams, not goon teams now.

Habs vs Nordiques used to be great, and much more violent. In 2 years it returns.
