Suit against HTC
Apple has filed a lawsuit for patent infringement towards the phone manufacturer HTC, which uses the Androis OS in many of their phones.

As the article says, if they lose the appeal it could be a pretty big blow to Android phones in general in the US. I agree with you though Stu, as much as I am a fan of Apple products, I think with phones in particular there really needs to be competition.
Why try and innovate when you can just sue?
This reeks of lame-as-fuck.

Well part of the suit is that Apple did innovate and they're claiming that HTC and Android copied them.

Apple's just got sand in their vagina cause all they're doing these days is playing catch-up to google-- Instead of pushing development forward they're now suing everybody. Microsoft did/is doing exactly the same thing, suing every company who has ever made a product similar to one they've made.

apple is seriously fucking with the free market; there have been serious rumours (contradiction? 
) that Apple is the reason the Samsung Galaxy S II has taken so long to get to the US... Instead of making better products they're just trying to hijack other's successes.

My HTC Legend has excellent battery life. 4 days at least.
(With calls, texting and some browsing and emails)
my htc evo 4g has like a 10 hour battery life.

Internet i turn on and off depending on if i use it (only 3g because 4g kills my battery). That extends my battery life a little. No blutooth annnnnnd i think my gps is turned on but i am not sure.
my phone gps not my actual GPS system app on my phone.
My brightness is pretty high because i use sunglasses and i cant see it sometimes if i am wearing them.
If i am careful i can make it last a good 16 hours.
iphone battery, 4 to 8 hours max without a recharge.. le shit
The only "smart" phone I ever had was the Blackberry Storm, and it was the biggest piece of shit I ever had. I sold it to some teenager from Craigslist for like $400 hahaha. What an idiot.
I've had a regular phone since then but I've been thinking about getting a new smart phone when my contract with Verizon is up. I've only had very limited experience with Android phones, so my first inclination would be to go with an iPhone, but I'd really like to get more used to the Droid OS because it seems like you can do a lot more with them as far as customization and getting the most out of its processor.
I have used that before.... a friend had it. It was a horrible phone.

buy are modern smartphones so weak in the battery departement ? 
my palm treo that I had since 2006 and just died could last a week easy but my new phone battery last more than 2 days
