Coachella Lineup 2012 Rumor thread

Im going to Coachella for my first time, figured I may as well try it out once. Its on my 30th bday this year, so I already grabbed a few tickets for me and a few friends and a couple camp spots.

Anybody know when they typically release the lineup? Ive heard a few rumors on the website's forum...

Radiohead
No Doubt
Coldplay

meh

it'll be some time til the official lineup still. earliest could be like late february i guess?

I saw this rumor lineup leaked recently:


Which weekend are you going? I haven't bought tix yet. Some friends and I are gonna figure out which weekend over xmas and then grab the tix. Some friends of mine will be going for the first time Will be my 5th!


As for the rumors - I think there's some truth to many of em, but I don't put any stock in Radiohead or Daft Punk rumors, as they surface every.single.year..

we are going weekend two 20-22.

somebody put alot of thought into that rumor flyer haha.
the daft punk rumors are really old at this point

If that flyer didnt have Daft Punk on it I would actually believe it could be true

^well, honestly - fliers like that are based on "insider information" and popular rumors. The way I see it is this: a lot of the smaller names that get circulated as rumors do so for a reason, whereas most of the big names (radiohead, daft punk) don't mean much of anything without any real confirmation from the act themselves.

I noticed from sorting through the forums that alot of predictions are a result of tracking down tour schedules that may increase the possiblity, in addition to tweets from artists etc.

The rumor flyer spelled Armin Van Buuren wrong.

They usually start releasing the lineup in middle to late January.

I was just the right age and music taste when I was young, that I would actually buy tickets to go see Armin and No Doubt alone! Those were my childhood music favorites!!! I still can listen to and entire No Doubt album, and love it.

Lol. I remember there was an after party at some club in Indio with a dj set by Elijah Wood last year.

There are only a couple/few thousand tickets being released in Jan for week 1, if you want tickets make sure you get in on them as soon as they drop.

I believe there are plenty of tickets for week 2.

I just want to point out that they may have "confirmed" but untill goldenvoice puts out the lineup things change. Every year there is a huge list of "confirmed" artists and some percentage of them get knocked off the lineup for whatever reason.

it can be fun to speculate, but they release the lineup in jan so what's the point of speculating? you have 3 months to get yourself horny as fuck for the shows

It's not like insomniac who will release the lineup 2 days before the event

^of course you're right..and for me it's not big deal really. i don't care who's there this year, as i've been enough times to know that it's gonna be amazing regardless.

the rumor mill/early-'confirms' is pretty fun to follow because it's a GREAT way for me to entice friends from back east to just get on with requesting the vacation time and booking a flight.

Last year there was a flier that had some pretty clever "misspellings" and certain performers were added next to each other. I can't remember what they were and theres so many of the fake fliers i can't find it

M83 is playing at the fillmore on April 22nd, wouldnt be surprised if they play at coachella on the fridays
