bedrock> poor u!!!! lol scott project, armin? who r u inot then?

Posted by Bedrock on Sep-17-2002 13:26:

not really a true 'trancer'
at least not of the epic/hard/melodic kind

more into the minimalstic/progressive/tech trance
I have an appreciation for good trance as long as its not cheeze, I guess one of the few trance dj's I can say I truly like would be John 'OO' Fleming

Posted by Bedrock on Sep-17-2002 13:27:

oh and Sasha if u want to call him a trance dj, which he's not

yeh sasha is good, but definately not trance i see where u are coming from, im actually into music big time, very pasionate about it!! i love all music, things from techno to hard trance/house but then i also like things like old skool, indie drum and bass jungle hip hop etc etc, the only music i dont like would have to be chart pop music, especially with all these generated commercial bands around now like liberty x and hear say etc etc. i just dont like their cheesy lyrics, cheesy melodies, cheesy beats and bad singing.dancing/image! lol! i like floaty tunes aswell, euphorioc trance is good, especially on sundays or even on a friday night under the stars hugging sum1 !

Posted by Bedrock on Sep-17-2002 13:34:

hehe good call

we think of the UK as being at the forefront of quality underground music, but its also the leader in cheeze and shit pop music

hey Fairy Liquid

Australia is a beautiful country, im sure you will love it. Africa is beautiful too but is a rather dangerous place to be. If youre planning on visiting south africa, don't bother, the club scene there isnt what it used to be (it was huge in uplifting trance back in the day) but now the whole country is literally a HOLE!

oh yeh and if you like ure hardtrance then sydney is for you

Posted by Mikrop on Sep-17-2002 15:57:

Agree with jace... Sydney for hard trance...
Melbourne for more progressive style (though we do have hard trance and hard house too)... Don't know about the other cities... Anyone?

Brisbane...all hard house and tech with a dash of trance on the side!! Only 2 of the local djs play trance.

Posted by Bedrock on Sep-18-2002 01:41:

(on a local level) Perth for Drum n Bass, Jungle, Hardcore, Hard Trance & Hard House, bit of tech aswell, the rest is pretty small

everyone comes out from under their stones when the internationals come though...

i dunno. all my favourite musicians, aside from BT, happen to be from the UK. Massive Attack, John '00' Fleming, Hybrid, New Order, Primal Scream, Alex Paterson, Dot Allison, Underworld, Placebo, Jan Johnston, Craig David... it's gotta be the best place for musicians, me thinks.

If you like your progressive/dark/deep shit thaen buy this CD when you get to Melbourne:

Here's a review:http://www.residentadvisor.com.au/reviews.asp?ID=248

Posted by Bedrock on Sep-18-2002 08:22:

Astroboy: you know where its at

fieroavian: u missed the point of what I said, I meant, that beside the quality acts you listed, the UK also comes out with a lot of commercially generated cheeze...

by the way, isn't J00F from Dublin, Ireland?

WOW!!! THankoo guys n gasl?! for ur responses!! awwwww yey! erm well, im going to be travelling jan 2004 for a year, so probs be in australia april time maybe?! im not going travelling for the music, ive always wanted to go to arfica since i was an ickle girl, the scenery, the animals and generally the whole experience! it's just gonna be so much fun to not only be in autralia (another breath taking country) to back pack and stuff but if i get to experience some quality music and nights out over there its juts gonna be amazing! got to get my exams out the way forst though, but im so looking forward to it i may have a varied music taste, but lately ive been mostly listening to hard trance and hard house (the harder and faster the better) but next week ill probs be mostly listening to hardcore and techno! so u get the idea, anything goes really! i most excoted about :
*meeting the ppl (mmm sexy accents lol)
*culture
*animals/scenery
*clubbing

thanks again for ur help, ill probs pop in and out of this forum anyway, but im always hanging around UKTA

xxxxxx
