transcendental music

this is the best kind of 'trance' music. not your average "club mix" type track.

but true trance music (not to get hung up on 'genres')

words or terms i'd use to describe it, or associate it with, are:

first of all 'trance' itself... dream-state. mystical. uncertainty. weird. netherworld. fog/mist. schizoid. mildly-twisted. eerie. deep. reflective. REM-stage. spiritual. inhibition. out-of-body experience. subconscious. otherworldly. ethereal. trippy. sensory. paradoxical (world)... and mushroom.

two FANTASTIC and PRIME examples of this are:

the music will speak much more than (garbled) words. give them a play and see if you know what i'm talking about, and more importantly give your example(s) of this hidden genre of brain-tantalising music.

^Nice Mark, do you have a soft spot for The Auranaut?

Posted by rubez on Jun-26-2013 17:47:

don't know the cotton candy connection(?) but The Auranaut is a good shout... if that is what you are talking about?!

a great one indeed:

love the freaky subliminal messages you sometimes get in these tunes...

be aware of every sound!!

I did and see, but still don't know why this should be 'true' or 'best' Trance.

You can't fit 36 minute space epics on your puny vinyl discs.

EDIT: Some more stuff. Pretty sure I post these three every time someone starts babbling about this subject:

you dissing the 'sphere bitch?!

and don't misquote, i said average club mix type track. and totem is not a club mix, but an original track.

also:

brings in The Masters series 16 by Hernan Cattaneo. beatless till the 6 min mark when imperial beats stomp in

I'm not the kind person to listen to everything from start to finish most of the time but when I but this on at 4am I'm pretty much garuanteed to head nod off for at least 30 minutes. The drums are obviously top notch but what really sets Source Direct apart is the misty early morning atmosphere. They came up with these absolutely killer mysterious and atmospheric pads and strings and they totally make their tracks. The jazzy bassline is absolutely spot on as well obviously.
