Be Cool! Putting together a summer party.... need your help!

hey guys, I'm trying to put a party together this summer preferably outdoors at like a park or rooftop or some kind of venue not picky. I know alot of you are promoters and have done this before so any help is appreciated. I have a couple DJ's already (me included) but am definitely looking for more, with various different music styles obviously.

I might have a line on doing this in the meadowlands / metlife parking lot just waiting on a price for a permit. But im sure its gonna be crazy expensive so looking to see what's out there.

thanks in advance!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

music wise I'm looking for deep house / tech house / techno / progressive

size would be 100 - 200+ people (hopefully)

this is more of a day party like a 2-10p on a weekend but a night time party is not out of the question

budget is tricky, if I can get a good venue then I have a couple grand to work with. We have possible advertisement in the works from 92.3 FM (lol don't expect electro and shit house!)

What kind of help are you looking for? Do you have a rough idea on music style / size / day / time / and budget? Have you done prior ones to build off of or is this your first?

TFST @ SEHO and Fusion On A! we had that place turntup so many times, this was back when the LES was the old grimey LES lol bums fighting on the street, dark hidden nooks, undercovers walking around.

sounds awesome and i'd love to be a part! don't have any lines on venues though but would be glad to help out where i can.

Hey man, I'd be happy to play for you. I absolutely love playing parties like this. I dunno if you've heard my tunes, but I dabble in the deep and dark progressive trance and techno. My releases and mixes are at soundcloud.com/djsedna if you wanna check it out.

Cheers.

Cool what kind of things do you need help with? Personally I don't think the radio ads would be worth the $.. imo it would better spent on Facebook ads to a more targeted audience of your friends who are more likely to come out and be a better crowd overall.

I can def attest to Sedna's skills.

This is my recent house mix. Rest of my mixes is techno and house/techno set from Sullivan room

word. thanks man. add me on Facebook, name's Daniel Nusdeo, we probably have a bunch of mutual friends.

also, Seb rules. Make him play dirty techno.

why is that sad?

The initial post does say "different music styles".
Might not match up exactly with the further description, but so what?

As long as it's quality, that's what really matters.
We're not talking crap-hop, or bieber-shit here.

Overall, your style seems to not to be out of place imo.

I think people are focused way too much on too small of a niche.
Best way to kill creativity when the horizon is too close...

Trance / progressive is great!

This is turning into a huge event actually w 3 stages inside and outside... It will be sponsored by the cancer association to benefit our friend... We might be getting Bingo Players (I know lol) to headline inside since one of them passed from cancer. Gotta sell tix I guess ... Would love for all TA DJ's to be part of this!

Will have a lot more info soon!

^^^

no personal insult meant.
it's a job,thats cool.

I think I know from what you do in your free time, vs. what you (seem to) put on $-wise, whats good and whats not.

plenty of non-smokers work at Phillip Morris...
